Senior Front End Developer

As a Front End Developer you'll work closely with the senior technical architect and take a lead role on the application development team. You'll also cut across lanes and collaborate with teammates of all functions, to come up with new ways to technically implement requirements and designs. You will joining our Public Sector team, working on a major project for a healthcare client, and working on client-site in Rockville, MD.

Looking for a self-motivated candidate who will be responsible for building out user experiences and thinking outside the box to create new technical solutions. The candidate should have a passion for staying up-to-date, applying best practices, and raising the bar when plying front-end technologies in the service of the client and end users. This position will require the ability to work cross-functionally. Qualified applicants must be detail-oriented, results-driven individuals who communicate and collaborate effectively, work well within team environments, and are comfortable client-interfacing.

Do you have all or most of the following?

• 4+ years of experience with JavaScript in a popular modern framework

• Experience owning code reviews and assuring code quality for front-end development stories

• A wide array of modern tools in the tool bag, and the ability to assess existing solutions for usefulness, reusability, compliance, and coding techniques.

• Experience working with back-end developers to create microservices and applications for consumption by the front-end

• Experience collaborating with a creative team to develop functionality iteratively

• The ability to unify a team around a carefully researched or prototyped approach

• Experience integrating presentation layer code with CMS technologies

• A continuous practice of using developer tools to assess code for validity, performance, quality, and compliance

• A belief in the value of unit tests, and experience writing them to ensure consistency and proper functionality across releases

• The ability to build solutions that are performant across browsers, platforms, devices, and environments

• An interest in accessible web development, ideally with experience developing for Section 508/WCAG 2 accessibility requirements

• A habit of staying current on web technology trends and innovations and sharing information with the team

• The ability to work with project leads to define & estimate stories, as well as participate in, and in some cases drive, design solutioning sessions

Technical Requirements:

• 5+ years of industry experience

• 4+ years of experience developing large-scale web sites (>1000 views)

• Experience with web content management systems

• Extensive experience with JavaScript and frameworks such as Angular, React, and/or Vue

• Expert level of understanding with Node.js based tooling like Webpack, Grunt/Gulp, NPM, ExpressJS, Babel, etc.

• Expert understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3

• Hands on experience with state management tools such as Redux and/or Mobx

• Experience working with responsive web designs across multiple platforms

• Experience with unit testing using frameworks such as Mocha, Chai, Enzyme, or Jest

• Experience producing and consuming RESTful microservices

• Experience with Drupal CMS preferred

• Experience with Agile, DevOps and CI/CD pipeline (preferred)

• Some level of familiarity with Jenkins, Sonar and similar DevOps tools (preferred)

Additional Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree required from college or university

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident able to obtain a Public-Trust clearance

• Eligible for U.S. Government Clearance

• Excellent analytical and process-oriented skills

• Excellent verbal and written skills

• Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams (consulting firm or agency experience preferred)
