The Client Protection (Fraud) organization at Bank of America is growing and looking for talented analysts to join our team! We are hiring smart, hungry, intellectually curious and hard-working candidates that will work on the following types of problems:
Building mathematically-derived algorithms to differentiate fraudulent transactions, applications, payments, system access and other activity from normal customer behavior
Digging into cases where fraud losses were incurred to determine what happened and why
You'll need to be detail-oriented and able to dig through a lot of data to determine root causes and recommend appropriate countermeasures
Deploying new fraud technology on our portfolio produced by vendors/data science partners (such as new scores), and ensuring that our fraud rules correctly use these new tools
Creating reporting to clearly and concisely show where we are experiencing losses and determine if there is any organized attack pattern
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment and enjoy solving complex problems. Fraud experience is preferred, but not required for this role. However, you must have a strong technical background, willingness to learn, and great work ethic.
A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, economics, statistics or business is important. We will, however, consider non-degree holders with numerous certifications in analytics and data science courses, and significant, relevant experience.
Proficiency in SAS and SQL are required.
You should have at least 5 years of work experience preferably in financial services.
All experience must be in an analytical capacity, including strategy development, data science, or modeling/scoring.
You should have extremely strong communication and presentation skills and be able to explain your work to a variety of audiences, senior and junior, technical and non-technical. PowerPoint skills should be advanced.
You should thrive in a fast paced environment and have great organizational and project management skills.
Master's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, operations research, engineering, computer science, economics, statistics or business is preferred.
Experience with Python, Hive, HUE and other next-generation tools is highly desired.
Experience in fraud, information/cyber security, marketing analytics, or risk.
Knowledge of Tableau is a plus.
