Home Protection has 3 business units (Home Warranty of America ("HWA"), Protection Plans, American Water Heater Rentals ("AWHR") that serve the North American Market. HWA and Protection plans provide repair and maintenance plans for the whole home and individual appliances that are sold either through realtors or direct to consumer. AWHR provides rentals of water heaters, washers, and dryers to consumers.


  • Developing analytical models to forecast and understand short and long-term trends for relevant business drivers

  • Analyzing Gross Margin Components to provide relevant Executive Level guidance on business performance and areas of risk and opportunity

  • Partnering with other areas of Finance (BPM, Cash, etc.) on the reporting and analysis of all Gross Margin Components and impacts on holistic P&L

  • Building relationships with operational partners across the business, notably, Finance Partnering, to streamline monthly reporting and annual planning process

  • Ensuring effective, efficient, and accurate reporting and analytical processes

  • Performing standard Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly reporting and updating and tracking Key Performance Indicator's (KPI) with excellent attention to detail

  • Provide a high-quality response to ad-hoc queries, demonstrating business understanding and analytical excellence



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field preferred

  • 2-3 years of experience working in an analysis and/or finance environment

  • Demonstrated ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analysis and build financial models

Reasoning Ability

  • Able to concisely and effectively deliver insights, recommendations, and results to Executive Level management

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, and reporting on large amounts of data

  • Attention to detail while ensuring reasonability and adhering to tight deadlines

  • Self-starter with effective time management skills and an ability to prioritize individual workload

  • Keen sense of urgency around delivery of reports and deadlines

VIEW JOBS 12/14/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-14T00:00 National Oilwell Varco ("NOV") Corporate Tax Department is seeking a Senior Transfer Pricing Analyst to join the Transfer Pricing team whose focus is to support NOV's U.S. and international intercompany transactions. As a Senior Transfer Pricing Analyst, key responsibilities include: * Applying complex transfer pricing concepts and economic/financial knowledge in developing, executing, and maintaining the company's intercompany transfer pricing policies * Conducting functional interviews and cost center interviews to gather necessary financial and descriptive information for transfer pricing analyses and documentation purposes; preparing and/or reviewing functional analyses based on the information gathered * Constructing functional questionnaires and data requests with limited guidance and the ability to explain the rationale for collecting specific data * Facilitating the data gathering process and ensuring that the information obtained from operations is summarized accurately and consistent pursuant to the OECD BEPS Actions (e.g., Master File, Local Files, and CbC Report) * Preparing the company's CbC Report internally; assisting local controllers/tax managers in the preparation of the local CbC Notifications * Reviewing quarterly calculations of management fees, interunit markup, and intercompany royalty charges * Reviewing intercompany agreements for consistency and effect * Reviewing economic analyses on material intercompany transactions and the proposed transfer pricing adjustments, as applicable, in accordance with the arm's length principle * Reviewing internally prepared transfer pricing documentation reports and/or assisting outside advisors in the preparation of TP reports in accordance with US and foreign requirements * Assisting in the review of the final transfer pricing documentation reports prepared by outside advisors * Reviewing current transfer pricing policies for effectiveness and proposing changes as necessary * Conducting benchmarking analyses and drafting new transfer pricing policies * Assisting in the preliminary due diligence and post-acquisition analyses of acquired targets to align legacy transfer pricing policies with NOV's current transfer pricing policies * Assisting in the review of existing intercompany arrangements and modeling the TP implications of BEAT, GILTI, and FDII as recently introduced in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) * Assisting in defending transfer pricing in audits and advanced pricing agreements (APAs) as necessary * Participating in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator * Mentoring and training staff * Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related field * Master's in Taxation, Business Administration, Economics, or other relevant advanced degree preferred * CPA or CFA (candidate) is a plus * Public accounting experience preferred * 2 years of working experience in transfer pricing, international tax, or similar role with at least one year working in a transfer pricing role * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
