Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Senior Fire Alarm Technician to support our business in Chantilly, VA.


  • Ensure that all inspections, field testing and service calls (fire alarm, fire detection, and suppression systems, egress lighting, and controls) be completed in accordance with the current edition of applicable codes, standards, and facility specifications.

  • Maintain and repair site fire protection systems in accordance with the requirements specified; these systems include, but are not limited to, Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, Automatic Sprinkler and Standpipe Systems, including fire pumps and hydrants, dry and wet chemical extinguishing systems, smoke control systems, smoke purge systems and portable fire extinguishers.

  • Respond to and complete requests as outlined in company procedures or desktop instructions.

  • Inspect various routine, emergency and fixed fire protection equipment and systems to ensure operational readiness.

  • Ensure facility is compliant with applicable codes, standards and company procedures while also completing appropriate documentation.

  • Respond to emergency calls for assistance to mitigate hazardous situations by operating specialized tools and equipment.

  • Determine the appropriate course of action within the scope of qualifications.

  • Install, troubleshoot, and perform PM's on fire alarm systems and other systems as noted.

  • Meet physical requirements of the job to include lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs, climbing ladders, walking on grid platforms, walking on roofs, reaching above shoulder level, forward reaching, twisting, frequent climbing, kneeling, pulling, pushing, walking and continuous standing.

This position requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)


  • Experience as a Life Safety/Fire Alarm Technician

  • Ability to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) post-start

  • Capable of working flexible hours to include overtime and weekends, when necessary

  • A NICET II certification in fire alarm technologies


  • A NICET I certification in fire suppression

  • Experience in EST-3 fire alarm system

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years' related work, Bachelor+2 years' related work, etc.).

The incumbent will work with other engineers and management to report all issues and fix any potential problems. To perform this job successfully, a Fire Protection Engineer must be able to perform each essential job function as listed below: * Provide engineering review, coordination, and oversight of operations and maintenance, repair, and construction work * Oversee and coordinate activities with the trade shops, including prioritization of work, review of ongoing projects, and inspection of installed equipment * Oversee and coordinate work orders, service orders, and projects * Develop cost estimates, documents, and reports * Coordinate energy program and analyzing utility costs * Provide after-hours engineering services in the event of an emergency * Manage project design and/or construction efforts, to include schedule, funding, and day-to-day project oversight * Manage and evaluate construction contractor performance * Integrate and coordinate projects with field personnel * Evaluate, validate, and manage project change requests * Provide official weekly project status reports * Prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders * Assist the client's Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution and administration * Assist the CO and COTR with conducting pre-bid and pre-construction site visits with the COTR * Provide invoice supporting information to the COTR for payment * Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets; provide technical guidance and assistance on contracting and construction-related issues; direct design efforts; recommend construction documents for approval; and provide oversight of any follow-on maintenance programs * Optimize performance, cost, and schedule by ensuring project objectives are achieved on schedule and at the lowest cost compatible with user requirements * Conduct design reviews with the customer * Ensure timely input of all data, comments, and documentation into MAXIMO software project management tool.
