JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst will perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of the Field Operations organization. Create financial reports monitoring financial metrics and budgeting. Prepare business cases for the development of business strategies and tactics. Analyze, track and report on the annual capital plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop business cases to support activities such as acquisitions, divestitures, investments and capital expenditures.

  • Evaluate key strategic decisions and communicate with appropriate departments when issues are found during analysis to rectify the issue.

  • Quantify the financial impact of the opportunity or issue involved, including likely returns on investments or payback period for proposed capital expenditures, new services or other investments.

  • Track capital spending and assists in preparing the annual capital forecast and budgets.

  • Assist in the maintenance of budgeting and reporting tools including loading monthly data, posting dashboard reports, running calculations, and managing hierarchies.

  • Produce operational statistics for the Accounting department for month-end-close.

  • Coordinate with Treasury Department regarding all equipment lease schedules as well as make recommendation for end of lease options; maintain active lease schedule tracking

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for field operations (financials and metric driven) and assist in the preparation of quarterly goal setting.

  • Review monthly expenses to ensure proper classification/coding and report variances.

  • Assist with the transformation of finance systems through research as well as create documentation and data flows.

  • Perform financial and business-related research and analysis for special studies and as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five (5) years of experience in a Finance role.

  • Demonstrated problem solving, quantitative analysis, and analytical abilities.

  • Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).

  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field.

  • Seven (7) years of experience in a Finance role.

  • Experience in the transportation

WORKING CONDITIONS

This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.

The Financial Analyst assist in the compilation and analysis of various financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting items. This role plays a crucial part in the compilation of sales commissions for our sales team in accordance with company policy and established financial metrics. This role will serve as a liaison between internal associates and the financial team to reconcile problems or make adjustments to ensure financial integrity. Key Responsibilities * Facilitates the production of weekly, monthly, year-to-date and year-end financial and statistical reporting, including variance and trend analysis of results to budget, prior year and forecast * Assists in the development of the annual budget, long term operating plan, and monthly/quarterly forecasts. * Creates and reviews for accuracy management presentations (Executive book & Ops Reviews). Assists in the creation and implementation of financial management reports. * Collects and consolidates all financial information from each segment using Oracle – information is collected, and financial models are maintained and monitored. * Reports and manages weekly/monthly sales reports in conjunction with company's sales pipelines and generates key performance metrics as required to meet company performance initiatives. * Responsible for producing monthly sales commission statements in conjunction with company policy and established financial metrics. * Become familiar with the company's data processing, financial, and inventory management systems. Shall be able to trouble shoot problems with these modules as well as utilize them in an effective and efficient manner to resolve issues that impede the efficiency of financial operations. * Acts as a key liaison with the requests and needs of business executives and internal associates to reconcile any problems or makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendation to ensure financial integrity. * Provide timely and accurate information to the regarding financial matters. * Maintains financial security by following internal controls and company policy. * Prepares regulatory compliance reports as directed by the Sr. Director of Finance including, but not limited to property, real, franchise, and annual tax reports * Supports the Sr. Director of Finance with special reports as requested by business leaders Key Skills: * Highly organized, deadline oriented, possess high attention to detail * Direct experience supporting a sales team with demonstrated financial analysis and analytics. * Knowledge of full P&L's and balance sheet accounts, including knowledge of GL account reconciliation * Proven ability to interpret and validate data, identify key economic drivers and utilize tools and techniques to analyze effectively * Ability to translate financial data in a manner that improves understanding and decision-making. * Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel * Former experience with tools, such as: Access, Tableau, SQL. * Strong influencing with an ability to build consensus and engagement with key stakeholders at all levels and across organizational boundaries. * Demonstrates a relentless drive and determination to see complex opportunities and issues through to resolution.
