The Financial Analyst will perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of the Field Operations organization. Create financial reports monitoring financial metrics and budgeting. Prepare business cases for the development of business strategies and tactics. Analyze, track and report on the annual capital plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop business cases to support activities such as acquisitions, divestitures, investments and capital expenditures.
Evaluate key strategic decisions and communicate with appropriate departments when issues are found during analysis to rectify the issue.
Quantify the financial impact of the opportunity or issue involved, including likely returns on investments or payback period for proposed capital expenditures, new services or other investments.
Track capital spending and assists in preparing the annual capital forecast and budgets.
Assist in the maintenance of budgeting and reporting tools including loading monthly data, posting dashboard reports, running calculations, and managing hierarchies.
Produce operational statistics for the Accounting department for month-end-close.
Coordinate with Treasury Department regarding all equipment lease schedules as well as make recommendation for end of lease options; maintain active lease schedule tracking
Assist in the development of annual budgets for field operations (financials and metric driven) and assist in the preparation of quarterly goal setting.
Review monthly expenses to ensure proper classification/coding and report variances.
Assist with the transformation of finance systems through research as well as create documentation and data flows.
Perform financial and business-related research and analysis for special studies and as necessary.
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five (5) years of experience in a Finance role.
Demonstrated problem solving, quantitative analysis, and analytical abilities.
Experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field.
Seven (7) years of experience in a Finance role.
Experience in the transportation
This job operates in a professional office environment indoors. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
The position requires the ability to spend long hours sitting or standing while using office equipment and computers. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing and keying. Occasional lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying 10 lbs of supplies and materials is required.
