We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst who will support Global Real Estate and Special Projects Finance by delivering data-driven and actionable insights about our stores / formats, customers, competitors, channels and strategic initiatives to help optimize our business in an omnichannel retail environment. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated and absurdly curious, with strong analytical and modelling skills rounded with partnering abilities.


  • Identify key business drivers in complex situations Involving multivariate analysis. Consider and explore multiple hypotheses to explain data relationships and trends

  • Forecast using a combination of quantitative techniques, time series analyses / projections, and causal models to predict sales / trip impacts based on available data

  • Explain complex modeling approaches in simple terms; develop compelling narratives that connect modeling results with finance problems

  • Carry model results through financial analysis to provide guidance on how to best optimize business

  • Leverage analytic capabilities available through third party vendors

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and other duties as requested


  • Bachelors degree in statistics, finance, economics or other quantitative discipline

  • 3-5 years professional experience in analytics, finance or related fields

  • Experience with advanced analytical techniques, including time series forecasting, clustering, and machine learning (classification and regression)

  • Self-directed, innovative thinker who is never bored but finds work

  • Strong candidates will have a curious mind and a passion for synthesizing information from multiple sources

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, with Alteryx experience a plus

  • Ability to present information in different forums and with all / multiple levels of leadership

  • Exceptional customer service attitude always responding "yes, and" and not "shouldn't someone else be doing that"

  • Comfortable in a decentralized structure where results are based on cooperation with and influence of others

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Description This Senior Analyst role will work closely with the Asset/Function to strengthen understanding of financial performance, commercial mindset Performance Management (PM): Provide insightful and proactive analyses to highlight key performance outcomes and trends PM analyses and reports (for example, KPIs, dashboards) Contribute to performance reviews Maintain updated forecasts Financial accounting, analysis & reporting: Analyze quarterly & annual business / financial results Review accounting accruals Provide internal and external financial reporting including to Investor Relations, Partners and for SEC reserve reporting Contribute to maintaining financial master data, work breakdown structures and cost centers Understand JV requirements and COPAS and assist to ensure compliance Business Planning: Work closely with the business/asset to develop and implement business plan & forecasts Contribute to strategic planning efforts Economic analysis: Provide economic analyses in support of investment and business decisions Ensure adherence to Equinor investment modeling standards Contribute to portfolio analyses Business Improvements: Collaborate and constructively challenge the business to perform better Identify and work with the business to reduce costs in a safe and sustainable manner Collaborate with others to identify and implement cross-asset and cross-functional learnings Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or related area preferred 5-7 years of experience; experience within the oil and gas industry in a business planning/economics and/or finance/controlling role preferred Strong financial and cost analysis and forecasting Understanding of integrated value-chain processes Prior experience with economic valuations and methodology In-depth knowledge and experience with Excel and Power Point Experience with Management information systems and business planning systems is a bonus SAP experience (preferred) Fluency in English Basic understanding of accounting principles Relevant work experience may compensate for formal education Personal Qualities Ability to live by our safety and security expectations Strong analytical and quantitative skills Structured and organized; able to meet tight deadlines Able to independently manage complicated process with multiple layers of internal interfaces High integrity; ability to remain independent and objective & challenge business decisions Takes initiative; proactive and solution-oriented Excellent communication and presentation skills Excellent interpersonal skills; strong collaborative attitude and way of working Willingness to explore and contribute in other areas Demonstrate safety as Equinor's first priority We Offer Equinor offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefit package.
