Purpose

Assist with GASB implementations including current requirements and reporting standards, reconcile and analyze financial data that meet GASB requirements, and review contracts for proper GASB reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist GASB team with monthly close, payment reconciliation, contract review and other related tasks.

  • Research, analyze, and implement process improvements related to the implementation and reporting of GASB 87 Leases, GASB 96 Subscription-Based Information Technology Arrangements, and GASB 94 Public-Private and Public-Public Partnerships.

  • Collaborate with UT System schools and other Texas universities in discussion on current and upcoming GASB implementations.

  • Communicate effectively with the Real Estate Office regarding leases along with various departments across campus regarding software subscriptions. Answer questions regarding procedures and refer complex questions to appropriate staff member.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related analytical field. Able to organize, and complete complex tasks within a team environment. Demonstrated excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills. Proficient in Excel. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements related to Leases, Subscription-Based Information Technology Arrangements, and Public-Private and Public-Public Partnerships as well as contract review. Experience working with a large research university. Experience with process improvement analysis and implementation. Experience with team building.
