What You'll Do:

You'll play a key role in the success of an evolving product line within The Standard's Retirement Services (SRS) division. You'll use your financial reporting and analytical skills to produce insightful analysis, making recommendations to senior leaders in support of division decision making and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with Management to develop insightful analysis of product performance, including forecasts and trends.

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships across functions including sales, product management, service and operations.

  • Interpret, present, and clearly communicate ideas and results to support strategic initiatives. Effectively use written and verbal skills, as well as analytic tools, to ensure timely identification and understanding of critical performance factors and accurate financial/operational information.

  • Proactively contribute to an environment of continual improvement.

The Skills and Background You'll Need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

  • Experience: 6+ years progressively responsible experience in the preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial results, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Proactive and self-motivated with effective organizational skills to deliver results.

  • Collaborative team player with a positive "can do" attitude and ability to perform well under pressure.

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Professional certification preferred: CPA, CFA, CMA, or MBA (or actively pursuing).

The Job: As part of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, the Senior Financial Analyst will drive Company-wide metrics and targets reporting, develop financial and product forecasts, financial models, create analyses and prepare presentations and deliverables for the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and Partners. This is a highly visible and critical role as 1) metrics and targets reporting will continue to advance the data-driven decision making throughout Simple and 2) forecasts, analysis, and business models developed will inform spending, investment and strategic decisions at Simple. What You'll Do All Day: * Interact directly with Simple's databases and departmental reporting to extract data and develop analyses / insights that inform the metrics reports, forecast and business decisions * Provide investment/cost-benefit analysis related to build, partner and buy decisions * Analyze potential revenue streams, business opportunities, product offerings, and business partnerships * Develop forecast / budget modeling analysis to support the Monthly / Quarterly / Annual planning processes * Create and present key deliverables for executives, the Board of Directors, and Partners to include monthly financial metrics, and board reports * Help identify ways to continuously improve and automate the planning, forecasting and reporting processes We'd Like To See: * 5+ years of related experience preferred, technology and/or financial services preferred.; * Experience using SQL to extract and manipulate data; Experience with other programming or scripting languages such as VBA, R, Python, C++ is preferred * Technical skill essential; ideal candidate would have FP&A experience in a Finance, Marketing and/or Decision Analytics role * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with experience presenting to executives * Has a growth mindset, and has worked in fast-paced environments, with the ability to quickly adapt to change * Comfortable adapting to new information systems and technology * Advanced Excel and Powerpoint or Keynote skills * BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business preferred, Masters or CPA is desirable Come As You Are: We recognize the dire lack of diversity in our industry, and we're not okay with it.
