Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to work in our Supplier Risk Management Finance area at our Headquarters and Technical Center in Auburn Hills, MI.

What You'll Do

This position is responsible for:

  • Identification and mitigation of financially distressed suppliers to ensure uninterrupted vehicle production at FCA plants.

  • Working with Purchasing, Legal, Treasury and Supplier Risk Management Operations to aggressively manage distressed suppliers by managing cash advances/prepayments, facilitating payments to suppliers, and monitoring/managing supplier inventories and parts banks.

  • Protecting FCA's set-off rights to ensure recovery of advances, case expenses, and professional fees.

  • Reviewing accommodation agreements and legal documents for FCA obligations and liabilities.

  • Forecasting cash and income statement impact of required financial accommodations.

  • Ensuring all financial transactions comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), FCA internal control policies, and external audit requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

  • 8+ years of experience in finance or accounting

  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis

  • Self-motivated and self-directed

  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Manage well under pressure and a strong ability to work within a team

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management

  • Exceptional computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to master FCA's proprietary applications

  • Ability to manage multiple, complex priorities with tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA or CMA

  • Working knowledge of bankruptcy law, receiverships, trusts, and related legal terms

  • Risk mitigation experience

  • Experience with SAP, Hyperion Essbase, or Hyperion HFM

  • Budgeting and forecasting experience

  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)

  • Automotive or manufacturing experience

Coordinate and support financial analyses for new quotes following internal processes, combining relevant inputs from Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing teams. Prepare and present quote summaries, and support review meetings. Provide strategic sales price for Request for Quotation (RFQ). Analyze and review plant cost structure during budgeting period and prepare cost outlook for multiple plants. Develop long term (3-5 years) target cost projections. Prepare financial analyses to support release of funding for investment decisions across the various production locations, considering the product portfolio and strategic footprint targets. Provide guidance and tracking during the course of project development by maintaining cost and profitability metrics in SAP, ensuring proper upkeep of project financials. Support Sales and Product Line organizations, calculating the cost impacts of customer-driven engineering changes and provide guidance for adequate pricing of such modifications. Prepare, maintain and present cost transparency material, price bridges and cost breakdowns, using standards and templates accepted by GM, FCA, Ford and other OEMs. Provide frequent support to South American locations, mainly Brazil and occasionally in person, ensuring that local considerations are properly addressed in project quotes, change management and cost transparency. Support Industrial and Design Engineering teams in CRP activities across different product categories, driving discussions about cost-saving measures and tracking their implementation and impacts. Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or Accounting or Finance or related or equivalent. Requires five (5) years progressive controlling and project management experience in the automotive or auto parts industry to include five (5) years: creating, troubleshooting and updating multiple simultaneous and interlinked Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, including scenario calculations and pivot tables; SAP FI, SAP CO and SAP MM; four (4) years: automotive cost controlling and cost analysis; three (3) years: financial analysis for capital investments, supporting management in investment decisions and providing clarity on key financial indicators like Return on Sales, Internal Rate of Return, Net Present Value and other key financial indicators; using automotive technology terminology and manufacturing process steps; financial modeling, cash flow analysis and net present value evaluation; interacting with cross-continent, multi-cultural teams; and two (2) years: manufacturing processes and operations concepts of cycle time, yield, efficiency, depreciation, and capacity. Requires 10% U.S. travel and 5% international travel to Brazil, Mexico and Germany for workshops, production line visits, budget reviews, customer visit support, and meetings.
