The Sr. Financial Analyst's main responsibility is to provide information and support to the Mercy Clinic South Executive Management team and Mercy Clinics through the use of business intelligence tools, creation of business dashboard reporting and performing complex financial analysis.

This position will also be responsible for supporting the annual budget process, variance analysis, and working with the Mercy Clinics to identify opportunities for increasing profitability. The ideal candidate will possesses strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.

Report management:

Support reporting needs for end users, duties may include:
1.Gather and process project data, performance data, health data, financial data and other business data as requested by business leaders and end users
2.Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
3.Work with MIS reporting team members to develop appropriate financial reporting and supporting schedules used to identify opportunities and risks to the physician organization

Financial Management:
1.Develop and support the organization's budget process to achieve organizational objectives.
2.Analyze and monitor financial performance and report financial results and budget variances
3.Manage activities related to implementing and maintaining the integrity of the organization's financial reporting system.
4.Creation of ongoing 12 and 24 month forecast models
5.Creation of complex analysis used to gauge the overall financial impact to the physician organization within various business decision trees
6.Creation and updates of supporting documentation for monthly Operation Reviews, BOD, and Finance Committee meetings
7.Provides new/potential acquisition analysis and support for pro-forma creation, physician organizational models for new business lines, and MGMA/Compensation analysis
8.Creation of ad-hoc financial analysis

Team Projects:
1.Serves as the liaison between the customer community (internal and external customers), business leaders and the software development team through which requirements flow.
2.Collaborates with technical experts, business leaders, and end users to determine the best possible reporting mechanisms and evaluates tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
3.Work with management to prioritize and synthesize information needs.
4.Assist in the creation of deliverables that are developed jointly with the physicians, office support staff and technical experts. Includes project definition, logical design (business process and rules, data elements, workflows, and maintenance reports), implementation plans, and documentation and training needs
5.Assist in identifying data quality problems and in determining options for how they will be handled.

Communication:
1.Communicates effectively with doctors, co-workers, IS department and other departments as needed.
2.Works at establishing a good rapport and professional working relationship with all customers and co-workers.
3.Provide written and oral communication in a highly professional manner. Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive material and information.
4.Protects the confidentiality of patient information.

2.Collaborate with supervisors and peers to meet learning needs through informal and formal means.
3.Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, professional affiliations, and journals to keep abreast of the latest trends in the industry.

Other duties.

Other duties may include: Mentoring other staff members, conduct and/or attend meetings, and other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. 5+ years of solid accounting and budgeting experience along with excellent written, communication and presentation skills. The ability to use business intelligence query tools and computer spreadsheets (Excel) is required. Candidates with a strong background in healthcare finance, data analysis (including Access or SQL knowledge), business intelligence, and data management would be preferred.
