What Are We Looking For?

Spring EQ is looking for an entrepreneurial-minded finance enthusiast to join our FP&A team. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for production of financial metrics for management, as well as performance tracking and business management reporting to senior management.

The Senior Analyst will help develop and leverage technology to identify and track KPIs, generate key reporting packages, cross-functional analysis and special strategic projects, he/she will support Spring EQs leadership team and senior management with ad-hoc analysis, presentations, and special projects to increase profitability and operational/sales production.

As the firm continually builds-out and refines its financial planning infrastructure, this individual will be key in recommending and driving efficient processes. The successful candidate will monitor performance and present results to sales and operational managers.

Company Metrics & Performance

  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop relevant metrics that measure company performance and success

  • Assist in the development of company metrics compared to the mortgage industry to provide data for analysis in senior managements strategic decision-making process

  • Support and enhance a company-wide quarterly, monthly and long-range forecasting process and the development of corporate targets

  • Build out dashboards and scalable reports to track KPIs and summarize Spring EQs financial condition highlighting key trends and variances

  • Support the implementation of strategic business initiatives that improve productivity and increase profitability

  • Participate in cross-functional work to evaluate strategic initiatives and their associated financial impact and assist with incorporating them into financial plans

  • Ad-hoc analyses and strategic projects determined by the needs of executive team

Sales Reporting

  • Develop a process to implement and maintain weekly and monthly sales performance reports through managing data from multiple sources.

  • Create reports and communicate results to large audiences

Competitive Analysis

  • Create and manage a process to monitor and analyze industry trends and peer/competitor fundamentals, including financial and market performance

Capital Markets

  • Support capital markets transactions

What is Important to Us?

The Basics:

  • Bachelors degree required, finance, accounting, mathematics or economics preferred

  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, Operational reporting, investment banking or corporate finance

  • Strong user of technology solutions, knowledge of SQL and Tableau is preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Relevant work experience in finance or strategy roles, preferably in Mortgage or Retail Banking

  • Good interpersonal skills, experienced with managing relationships at all levels

  • A team-oriented and collaborative demeanor

Protection of the health of the public through state-of-the-art assessment of health professionals is the mission of the NBME, along with a major commitment to research and development in evaluation and measurement. The NBME was founded in 1915 because of the need for a voluntary, nationwide examination that medical licensing authorities could accept as the standard by which to judge candidates for medical licensure. Since that time, it has continued without interruption to provide high-quality examinations for this purpose and has become a model and a resource of international stature in testing methodologies and evaluation in medicine. Although the NBME's mission is centered on assessment of physicians, it encompasses the spectrum of health professionals along the continuum of education, training, and practice and includes research in evaluation as well as development of assessment instruments. The NBME has nearly 500 employees and is located in Philadelphia's University City neighborhood, home to some of the country's most esteemed universities, nonprofit research institutes, and research and teaching hospitals. POSITION OVERVIEW The Senior Financial Analyst position plays an important role in the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Unit by providing timely, accurate, and meaningful financial analysis that supports informed business decisions and enterprise performance management and improvement. This role will develop robust driver-based financial models, support budgeting and forecasting, build industry/company knowledge, and develop a strong understanding of financial and operational metrics in order to serve as a value-added business partner. Critical qualities to succeed in this role include the ability to take ownership, think independently, manage projects, develop relationships across the company, and possess the willingness and desire to continuously build industry and technical knowledge. POSITION DUTIES Financial Analysis * Responsible for reporting and variance analysis of unit and programmatic operating results against budget and prior year. * Supports project accounting by preparing cost estimates. * Prepares standardized financial modeling (where appropriate) to support executive team decision making including the development of strategic analysis related to return on investment, cost savings/efficiency calculations and business model evaluations.. * Responsible for long-term projections, "What if" scenarios, Adaptive Planning reporting, and special projects as assigned. Financial Systems/ERP * Responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of budget software, including developing and modifying calculations within the software, creating and updating reports and providing training and end user support; development of ERP queries and reports; and for ensuring the ongoing maintenance of ERP system data. Budgeting * Participates in semi-annual forecast and annual budget preparation, compilation monitoring and review process as well as analysis and reporting of the budget data. * Trains staff members and management in budget process; provides ongoing support to staff and management throughout the process. REQUIREMENTS Skills and Abilities * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including experience communicating and preparing presentations for senior leadership * Proven track record of solid analytical and troubleshooting skills * Demonstrated experience with financial modeling and data analysis. * Able to work independently and within a team * Accounting and information systems background including budgeting and/or reporting systems. * Well organized with an emphasis on time management skills and attention to detail. * In-depth working knowledge of Oracle (ERP) and Adaptive Insights is desired. * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word experience. EXPERIENCE * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience of a combination of financial analysis and accounting with an emphasis on financial modeling and data analysis experience. * Experience working with financial systems.
