Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst of FP&A reports to the Director of FP&A. This position is a high visibility role where you will interface directly with the C-Suite, campus Presidents and others in senior leadership positions. The position is responsible for the compilation, tracking, and analyzing of the consolidated and individual campuses financial results and KPI's. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for the maintenance of financial models and drive the monthly rolling forecast process. Additionally, they will heavily assist with the annual preparation of the budget and LRP. Other key deliverables and activities of this position include M&A, monthly Presidents Report, quarterly Board of Directors meetings, capital expense plans, human capital reviews, and other ad-hoc analysis/project-oriented type of requests.

Essential Functions

  • Provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis of the campuses results against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic plans to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and the overall strategic plan.

  • Prepare other various financial reports, charts, tables, and other exhibits as requested.

  • Maintain and develop various financial models and standard templates distributed during the planning processes, ensuring quality, accuracy, and focused analytic review.

  • Demonstrate insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business area partners and management to drive business results.

  • Understand the business processes, people, and relevant technology, to identify, configure, and communicate useful information to drive informed business decision making across the company.

  • Assist in performance improvement projects to enhance processes and financial results.

  • Identify non-value-added processes within the department and seek out solutions.

  • Complete a wide range of financial services and data analysis deliverables for a variety of stakeholders.

Knowledge / Skills

  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Understanding of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.

  • Understanding of the flow of data and the extraction of data from financial systems and other core operating systems.

  • Understanding of controls and data validation techniques.

  • Ability to assess reasonableness and relevance of financial and operational assumptions.

  • Desire to critically think and learn, conduct research, analyze and resolve complex problems.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail is required.

  • Maturity, professionalism, and a high level of discretion is required.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other quantitative based program is required.

  • Education/Training in Data Analytics or Business Intelligence is desired.

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
