About the Team

The Roku Channel (TRC) launched Roku Originals in May 2021 on National Streaming Day contributing over 90 Originals upon launch. Content delivered by Roku Originals has grown tremendously since, and they have impressively been in the top 10 TV series/movies each month since launch. As our content team continues to drive and support diverse entertainment options to our growing audiences while the Finance Planning & Analysis team supports the content team in building and maintaining operational efficiencies to scale.

About the Role

The Senior Financial Analyst will support the production finance team and partner with the Roku Originals business. This role will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining rapport with both internal and external partners. The Roku Originals team outputs new and exciting content at a tremendous pace. If selected, you will play a pivotal role in providing operational excellence, while pivoting with agility. As a data driven firm, you will provide analytical and direct business support, including production budget tracking, tax credits, forecast, monthly close, annual plan, results analysis, and reporting packages. Your excitement to work autonomously and independently will be monumental in your development to expand with the team's growth.

This position will be based in Santa Monica, CA.

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $85,000 - $163,000 annually.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

This role is eligible for health insurance, equity awards, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, wellness benefits, and paid time off.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Work closely and collaboratively with numerous other Roku teams including production, business affairs, FP&A, creative, and content accounting

  • Partner with Physical Production teams to develop and maintain TV budgets for in-house productions

  • Manage and track show fundings and schedules, and update cash forecasts for up to 30 productions

  • Oversight of third party relationships managing production finance and accounting

  • Update show-related information in Roku systems

  • Collaborate with production services companies and Production Accountants

  • Ensure production cost reports are submitted timely

  • Onboard production services company accounting teams to Roku policies and procedures

  • Coordinate with legal, HR, accounting, and Payroll teams to ensure compliance with tax credit requirements

  • Prepare and submit applications for tax credits for productions in the states of CT and MA, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation

  • Coordinate with external auditors as needed to facilitate financial audits

  • Ability to travel to East Coast on a quarterly basis, at minimum

  • Excited to take on finance related ad hoc projects outside of production finance

We're excited if you have

  • 7+ years of entertainment finance experience, production finance, and/or Over the Top (OTT) experience required

  • Experience in film or television tax credits for productions in CT and MA

  • Must possess a high level of intellectual curiosity with a focus on generating results

  • Must thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • Self-motivated, disciplined, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have strong Excel skills

  • Proficiency with production accounting software (e.g., Entertainment Partners, GreenSlate, Movie Magic, or other budgeting and scheduling enterprise systems)
