Premise is growing! We're hiring a Senior Financial Analyst in our San Francisco, CA office. You will be a key contributor to the financial operations of our rapidly growing company. This position provides financial reporting and analytical support by partnering with stakeholders across the business. You will have an opportunity to shape and drive integral reporting and financial processes to further accelerate our growth. The right candidate has a passion for breaking down complex business problems into discrete analyses and using data to help make informed business decisions. As a central member of the team, you will provide financial visibility to leadership to make better operational decisions.

What you get to do:

  • Drive complex financial modeling development, enhancement and maintenance

  • Monitor key financial metrics and business drivers; analyze budget/forecast variances to actual and review with management team

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly bookings analytics

  • Translate high-level business problems into more specific questions that can be answered through data analyses; leverage analytical findings to identify actionable business recommendations

  • Develop reporting metrics and present data with a clear point of view so that insights can be used to help drive financial and operational strategy

  • Prepare and monitor the company's long range strategic planning models

  • Establish processes to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial planning activities and proactively seek opportunities to improve planning and reporting processes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to provide ad hoc business-related analysis

  • Support the annual budget process and the periodic reforecast exercises

  • Develop key metric and insight reports that provide senior leadership with insights regarding financial issues that might affect operations and growth

Your background likely includes:

  • BS/BA (Accounting or Finance major preferred) with 4-7 years of financial analysis experience in a high-growth environment

  • Analytical background working directly in an FP&A, investment banking or consulting environment; experience with modeling bookings, revenue, costs and expenses

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial statements and schedules to identify trends

  • Excellent researching and problem-solving skills

  • Strong Excel skills are a requirement

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leadership

  • Experience with NetSuite; forecasting and planning software

The Senior Financial Analyst will be directly involved areas regarding forecasting/budgeting, analytics, and reporting specifically surrounding various US Retail lines, including Occupancy. This role will include providing variance analysis expenses including all costs, clearly explaining the business reasons for variances and adjusting outlook models to reflect operational adjustments. The Senior Financial Analyst must have strict attention to detail and an ability to set and meet tight deadlines will be critical for success. Position Responsibilities * Support monthly reporting and financial close by attending monthly close meetings, assisting with reconciling budget and forecast variances to actual results * Support all components of budget/forecast for all expense related to Occupancy, including actively pursuing new/innovative ways of improving business process * Monitor and review spending, identify trends/issues and lead resolution of problems * Perform ad hoc analysis to drive data decision making for the leadership team * Support all key financial processes related to Occupancy and other areas of ownership, including partnering with key stakeholders to produce the annual budget, strategic plan, biannual forecasts and monthly reporting/analytical support * Support the Monthly close process including preparation of variance reports and analysis with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. * Acquire and maintain a thorough understanding of the strategies, business issues, risks and profitability opportunities Skills and Experience Requirements * At least 3+ years of related business experience, ideally with proven experience in forecasting, budgeting, and monthly close activities * Intermediate accounting knowledge required, knowledge of IFRS 16 a plus * Superior Excel financial modeling skills and Financial Systems, SAP,BPC and Anaplan a plus * Requires a self-starter, ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively * Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational and task management skills * Ability to partner cross functionally with all levels of the organization * Thrives on an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer service-oriented * Proven ability to interpret and synthesize data into intelligent business decisions * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field COMPANY OVERVIEW: SEPHORA has been changing the face of prestige cosmetics since its debut in 1970s Paris.
