PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position supports the financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes for Pepco Holdings. Directly support Corporate Planning, Exelon Utilities, Investor Relations, and Treasury, and indirectly support other teams within the Pepco Holdings family of companies (Regulatory, Load Forecasting, etc.). Candidates must be able to fulfill ad hoc requests from various internal and external sources to support decision-making, and provide effective insight to managers and executives. Candidates must also be flexible, proactive and able to work with ambiguity. This position may demand extended hours at certain times during the year.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.Assist in the preparation and reporting of monthly results
2.Assist in the development and coordination of the monthly LE process and 5-Year Long Range Plan ("LRP").
3.Provide high quality variance analyses and be able to interface with a wide range of stakeholders
4.Perform ad-hoc analyses and prepare presentations to support leadership

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:
4 year degree in a business-related field with 5 to 8 years business-related experience and demonstrated success in finance or business operations.

Effective financial analysis skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills.

Fast learner, ability to multi-task and meet tight timelines.

Comfortable with ambiguity.

Exposure to accounting principles, financial metrics and financial statement relationships.

Working knowledge of Business Operations & industry practices.

Solid understanding of financial statements.

Solid financial modeling, analytical and problem solving skills.

Experience in process management.

Thorough computer-base analytical skill (e.g. Access, Excel, Power Point, database management).

Preferred:

MBA/CPA/CFA

Experience in the energy industry preferred

HSF, EPS, H11, and UI preferred

Expertise in PeopleSoft and financial systems

POSITION SCOPE

  • Position reports to Manager

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members

  • Solves moderately complex problems.
