The Sr. Financial Analyst has the lead day-to-day responsibility for managing and controlling O&M and capital costs.

This role will support accurate planning, reporting and analysis of operations. This position entails increased scope and complexity including fleet wide special projects. Must be able to fulfill ad hoc requests from various internal and external sources to support decision-making and provide necessary insight to executives, managers, department heads and line personnel.

Individual must be flexible, proactive and able to work with ambiguity. Individual must be able to commit to the time requirements of this position, which may demand extended hours as required.

1 Provide financial analysis and reporting for management on major capital and O&M cost drivers. Work with personnel to control and manage costs. Forecast performance against goals, plans and budgets. Bring a financial perspective to daily operations. Prepare and review month-end, quarterly and full-year forecast/reports up to and including: executive reporting packages, monthly financial close packages, quarterly management meeting presentations
2 Lead each monthly financial closing (pre and post close work), providing all required reporting to corporate center and site management. Ensure proper accounting treatment is followed and monitor adherence to corporate policies and procedures. Prepare various periodic reports to communicate performance in areas such as contracted services, overtime and other.
3 Develop the long-range financial plan.
4 Review and process Capital and other Project Request proposals. Monitor and report on Project spend.
5 Perform cost reporting - planning & tracking
6 Perform periodic Ad-hoc reporting and analyses.
7 Work with Manager to develop and oversee the work product of more junior financial analysts in the group and provide training and guidance as required. Perform complex special projects at the request of Management.


4 year degree in a business-related field with 5 to 8 years business-related experience and demonstrated success in finance or business operations.

Effective financial analysis skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills.

Exposure to accounting principles, financial metrics and financial statement relationships

Working knowledge of Business Operations & industry practices.

Thorough computer-base analytical skill (e.g. Access, Excel, Power Point, database management)



Expertise in PeopleSoft and financial systems

  • Solves moderately complex problems.

VIEW JOBS 9/25/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-24T00:00 Job Details PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for performing analytics related to contract modeling and ongoing management of managed care contractual arrangements using a variety of tools. Primary scope of work includes hospital, physician and ancillary provider, population health and joint venture contracts with commercial, managed Medicare and managed Medicaid lines of business. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conducts detailed managed care contract modeling and analysis utilizing current and future contract modeling systems in support of contract negotiations and ongoing contract and revenue cycle management. Contracts include fee for service, bundled payments, case rates, value-based and risk models that include CCHS employed physicians, hospital, ancillary providers/services [including but not limited to home health], Delaware Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine (DCMFM), Care Associates of Salem County / CCHI, potential joint venture activities, and "Direct to Employer" arrangements. Investigates individual and systematic payment issues identified by department analyses or communicated by providers (e.g. Patient Financial Services, Finance, Service Lines, etc.) and makes recommendations that address such issues in current and future contracts. * Lead in the development, distribution and ongoing maintenance of "Payer Scorecard" including key comparative metrics, contract terms, and renewal dates for use by management team. * Remain current with the changes in reimbursement models as it relates to value based contracting models along with the impacts of changes in Medicare and Medicaid fee schedules. * Evaluate annual changes to Medicare reimbursement methodologies – DRGs, OPPS, and APCs – and make recommendations for inclusion in / exclusion from commercial managed care contracts. * Analyze net revenue impacts of changes in current, potential and future contracts. Determine the cost of the care based on care delivery and contract structure and project contract performance based on modeling of actual and representative samples. * Assist with valuation of CareLink services as part of the Total Cost of Care incurred by risk-based patient populations. * Assist in the reconciliation of Total Cost of Care payment models in order to determine organizational shared savings or deficits, for example the State of Delaware A.I.M. model. * Prepares ad hoc reports, analyses and supportive data at the request of the VP, Enterprise Contracting & Payer Relations. * Responsible for maintenance of physician fee schedules and/or hospital rate schedules. * Assist manager in assessing rate compliance and monitors all changes made to contract terms. * Responsible for the maintenance and scanning/storage of all executed agreements. * As needed, participates in payer Joint Operating Committee meetings (JOC) and/or payer relationship meetings. * Adheres to CCHS standards for promoting a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. * Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors. * Performs other related duties as required.
