The Financial Analyst Senior will be responsible for LCMC's IT financial forecast, annual budgeting process, product costing, operating plan variance analysis, and special projects. This role will provide strategic support to IT Senior Management, including financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, and other projects requested by Senior Management. This role acts as the analytical engine of LCMC IT to provide insight and support optimal business decision-making. The Financial Analyst Senior will provide strategic direction, oversight and support to hospital affiliates, physician groups, and other System entities to develop and deploy an effective Labor Management Program (LMP), which will include productivity, benchmarking, target standards, and position control management. The LMP will support department labor projects, including action plans, lead activities, and skill mix optimization.

Information Technology Annual Budget:

  • Provide support to the Chief Financial Officer or Chief Information Officer (CIO) and IT Management Team to create and oversee IT's annual budget.

  • Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators, including all areas of revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures.

Information Technology Monthly Financial Reporting & Variance Analysis:

  • Provide support to Finance or IT for financial reporting processes.

  • Assist in answering gaps between actual versus budget financial variances.

  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances.

  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.

  • Prepare and present financial information to senior management on a regular basis.

Information Technology Contract Management & Ad-Hoc Analyses:

  • Oversee and manage IT vendor payments according to agreed upon contracts.

  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by LCMC CFO, CIO, and/or IT Management Team.

  • Support senior management with in-depth analysis.

  • Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies.

  • Prepare and present financial information to senior management on a regular basis.

  • Provide support to IT management to develop product cost models, e.g. Community Connect pricing.

Labor Productivity Project Management:

  • Introduce Labor Productivity to local Hospital management teams.

  • Participate in Departmental Interviews at local Hospitals.

  • Participate in Hospital Weekly Status Calls.

  • Manage local Hospital Labor Productivity implementation timelines.

  • Participate in training of labor coaches, employees/leaders, and SMEs.

  • Manage initial completion and follow up on Department Profile Questionnaires.

Labor Productivity System Statistics Standardization & Data Extract Standardization:

  • Manage Data Interface Files through collection of historical data and validation (include Epic).

  • Serve as liaison for Department Reporting Q&A.

  • Assist in standardizing Labor Productivity statistics for local Hospitals.

Labor Productivity Council:

  • Participate in the creation of local Hospital Labor Council Structures

  • Participate in LCMC Management Council as System Labor Coach

The Must-Haves

Minimum:

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

5 years experience in healthcare budgeting and financial planning or equivalent

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint

Strong leadership skills

Ability to analyze data and present it in a comprehensive manner

High standards of accuracy and precision

Highly organized

Articulate - both orally and in written communication

Ability to think creatively and problem solve

Self-motivated

Demonstrated ability to work with team members in a hands-on management capacity

Prior experience in working with and/or supporting Senior Executives
