As a Senior Finance Analyst for the Embedded Business Unit (EBU) at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the financial analysis and support for all aspects of your Business Unit. You will be responsible for the business unit's Cost, OpEx and capex management. You will measure business results and prepare accurate forecasts and inputs for the business plan and business unit investments. You will prepare, analyze, and present analysis required to support business unit decisions. You will participate in the team's monthly financial close process for detailed report out to the Business Unit management. By partnering with the Business Unit teams, you will influence business results through financial and operational data analysis, responding to customer requests, and presenting recommendations for improvements. You will measure results against business unit strategy, industry benchmarks and competitive data. Additional responsibilities include financial management of revenue recognition transition (Point of Sale to Point of Purchase) as well as preparation of quarterly revenue and product margin materials for review with the Business Unit management, highlighting key trends and improvements.

This position can be filled from Micron's offices in Folsom, CA or Boise, ID.

Additional Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Measure Business Results and Prepare forecasts for the business plan and investments

  • Build and maintain effective relationships to collaborate with Business unit stakeholders

  • Present Business Unit actual and forecast summary results

  • Highlight areas of concern and provide recommendations for improvements

  • Maintain knowledge of internal and regulatory requirements (SOX, GAAP)

  • Present data summaries and recommendations for improvements

  • Mentor team members on systems, processes and policies

  • Prepare, Analyze and Present Financial and Operational Data

  • Navigate information system applications (SAP, COGNOS, TM1, etc) to collect actual and forecast data

  • Combine and coordinate multiple sources of data from Sales, Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, Planning, Finance and Business Units

  • Provide business plan information including ASP, unit forecast, expense, Headcount, capex

  • Validate data and outputs for legitimacy and follow up for discrepancies


  • 7+ years experience in Accounting/Finance

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite; particularly Excel

  • Experience in data analysis

  • Results oriented

  • Self-starter and able to work independently

  • Organized and detail oriented

  • Strong focus on accuracy

  • Ability to influence others, build consensus, and resolve conflict

  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Expertise in Cognos / TM1 / SAP (desired but not required)


Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration/Management; Master's degree preferred.
