Splunk is looking for a high-caliber professional to join its finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, collaborative team and have a direct impact on Splunk's fast growing business. This highly visible position will be an integral part of the Marketing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, you will be a key member of the FP&A team in creating and maintaining an effective financial planning, reporting, and analysis process. You will support the senior leadership in both Marketing and Finance, owning end-to-end budgeting and planning and will have a deep focus on monthly / quarterly expense forecasts, month-end close, annual planning process, flux analyses, business partnership and supporting ad-hoc requests. Further, you will utilize your superior modeling skills and ability to help drive insight and foresight into the business, helping to guide management in their decision-making, providing financial insights, and helping to analyze competing investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with our team and business partners on critical business objectives and improve operational performance throughout the organization

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends, and analyzing root causes of variances

  • Drive and maintain annual operating plans, monthly financial forecasts (expenses, headcount, etc.), and performing ongoing variance analyses

  • Lead the financial close process, working closely with the business and Accounting to accurately reflect the finances

  • You will streamline procedures and interactions with business applications to improve overall effectiveness and visibility

  • Be the trusted advisor and finance owner for your respective business partners and teams

  • Create, develop, and maintain detailed financial and operating models to help predict future performance, perform scenario analyses, and guide the business on strategic decisions

  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with strong academic performance in a relevant focus such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Computer Science

  • 5+ years of relevant Marketing FP&A experience in a fast-growing organization; SaaS business models

  • Proven business partnership in owning budgeting and planning, and providing forecast accuracy; Able to clearly communicate results and explain variances

  • You have superior modeling skills and can distill large amounts of complex data into actionable insights

  • You are a dedicated and self-motivated individual; highly collaborative with the ability to influence

  • You have the highest integrity and have extreme attention to detail; you take pride in having high standards of accuracy and precision

  • Possess strong financial acumen. You have in depth knowledge of GAAP accounting standards (understand financial documents and statements, chart of accounts, expense accruals, FP&A processes, etc.)

  • You have excellent decision-making to help influence leadership

  • You are comfortable completing projects in tight time frames with minimal direct supervision
