Responsibilities
This Senior Lead Analyst is a key role for the success of the bids submitted by the Business Development organization. The Senior Lead Analyst takes a lead role at collecting, analyzing and screening any business development metric required for the successful development of new opportunities, including budgetary inputs and market intelligence information. Provides general support to the business development team on project control matters, acting as lead project controller overseeing cost, planning, schedule and risks associated with initiatives under development. Oversees all financial analysis with regards to Corporate Development opportunities and competitive transmission RFPs across the US.
Acts as direct liaison with other Business Development team members as well as other AVANGRID departments such as Control, Regulatory, System Planning, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, etc, and external consultants and contractors.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
1.Manages cost, planning, schedule and risks associated with the development projects as required.
2.Builds financial models and supports VP Business Development in the negotiations related with Corporate Development opportunities.
3.Acts as interface with the finance team on inputs into project model and in project financing process.
4.Analyzes and determines they key competitive intelligence information to be considered when elaborating the bid or negotiating the corresponding project agreements.
5.Supports the team on the definition of resource plans and internal needs for the projects.
6.Prepares and provides periodic reports to different levels in the organization on a regular basis.
7.Oversees (in its area of responsibility) the execution of development projects once they transition to the project team or the Projects department, ensuring alignment with the goals agreed in the development phase.
8.Maintains project control tools for the Business Development department, including risk matrixes, resource plans, project schedules, budgets and other information databases.
9.Act as liaison with other IBERDROLA stakeholders as needed, in particular with Global Networks Investments group.
Participates in internal business development forums and external energy and transmission forums
Provides general support to the proposal submission process, with a focus on the project controls area
Skills and Requirements
Bachelors' Degree in Engineering or Business Administration (Master's Degree preferred) and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience required.
Experience in elaborating or supervising economic models for infrastructure projects.
Experiences in competitive markets or environments.
Thorough knowledge of AVANGRID and IBERDROLA and experience in complex projects and assignments.
Skills/Abilities:
Proficient financing, with ability to develop and interpret business cases and economic models for investments. Some accounting experience also convenient.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across multi-functional teams and with senior management.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Effective at producing and summarizing relevant information quickly to help drive decision-making.
Proficient at Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel and Power Point.
Proficient at Microsoft Project and project scheduling principles.
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
