Job Summary:

Preferred qualifications and experience: Evaluates and monitors construction invoices, change orders, and contracts for the purpose of determining compliance with contractual requirements. Document identified issues & provide analysis of non-compliance financial impacts. Supports Manager Contract Review in developing and implementing appropriate controls. Provides analytical and consultative support to key departmental management. Financial or Public Auditing experience for construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, analyzes and communicates key financial information.

  • Provides support to management and other staff members regarding financial reporting and other issues.

  • Assists with budget preparation, budget review for compliance and financial planning processes.

  • Consults with all levels of management to provide decision support for initiatives, policies and procedures.

  • Performs special projects and duties related to research, forecasting and conflict resolution as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Department Specific Job Duties:

  • Review and analyze construction contracts and associated invoices to verify that invoices are billed according to the terms of the contract.

  • Analyze contractor & sub-contractor source documentation to determine if the invoices are appropriately billed and are in compliance with the contractual agreement. Monitor and analyze contractor/vendor payroll documentation, HR records, review wage and benefit source documentation based on staff determination of proper work classifications.

  • Analyze financial impact of non-compliance and track status of non-compliant issues as they are worked to resolution.

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of the issues identified.

  • Develop strong working relationships with Construction Owner's Representatives to facilitate communication and resolution of issues identified during the invoice review.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, Business or related field.

  • Master's degree preferred.

Certifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification preferred.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  • Advance skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of four years finance, revenue cycle management or general analytical experience. Healthcare experience preferred.

  • Master's degree may offset some required experience.

  • Ability to complete sophisticated analytical, consultative and information support through analysis and report preparation.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills, decisive judgment and the ability to lead projects and people.

  • Strong understanding of complex key performance indicators, cash flow analysis, product line analysis and proposal development.

Preferred experience: Seeking candidates who have a minimum of 4 years internal audit/accounting/analytical experience, preferably in a construction environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer.

  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.

  • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.

  • Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
