Position Description:

The Sr Financial Analyst is responsible for performing all analysis report requests as well as recurring monthly reporting for the appropriate COIDs. Assist with annual budgeting process as needed, including analysis of costs which facilities should budget. The Analyst will interact with Facility, Division and Corporate level leadership team as needed.

  • Main point of contact for all adhoc data and analysis requests

  • Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data and trends

  • Ensuring financial reporting is in compliance with HCA Accounting Policies

  • Develop, test, and deliver scheduled and ad hoc reports

  • Assist in Compilation, review, analysis and entry of monthly stats in accordance with corporate guidelines

  • Assist in annual rate review and system updates as needed

  • ROI Analysis as needed

  • Preparing and entering re-class, inter-copmany and accrual entried monthly as needed

  • Reconciling Balance sheets as needed

  • Practice and adhere to Code of Conduct philosophy and Mission statement

  • Assists with special projects and analysis as requested by Market CFO. Represent the CFO at meeting and on committees when requested

  • Model managed care contract payment terms. Analyze effect of contract changes

  • Prepare survey information for regulatory, licensing, and payer agencies

  • Maintain strictest confidentiality to ensure that privileged information is adequately safeguarded against disclosure

  • Protects operations by safeguarding patient and financial confidential information

  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification

  • CPA

Required Education or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience of financial analyst accounting

Preferred Education or Experience

  • MBA
  • 5 years of previous hospital accounting experience

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong computer skills and technical capabilities, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Business Objects, Essbase, etc. Elevated Microsoft Excel skills required (Macros/Formulas/Pivots/etc)

  • Strong analytical, reconciling, and problem solving skills. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and projections

  • Ability to communicate clearly with multiple levels of organization

  • Excellent math skills and strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and self-review, manage deadlines and multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems, platforms, and software packages

  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Healthcare experience
