Job Summary

The FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) department is responsible for assisting the President and CFO with measuring financial results, monitoring performance through routine business cycles, analyzing outcomes, advising on suggested areas of improvement and preparing Executive level presentations. The position supports any and all aspects of FP&A and is a highly visible and challenging role that will work under tight deadlines to support the needs of the business.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The critical areas of focus will be centered around the monthly close and estimate processes, including:

  • (30%) Has the primary responsibility to drive the monthly financial close, monthly estimates, annual budget builds for the functional groups the FP&A team supports. Tracks and understands business drivers for each customer group and completes monthly reporting and variance analysis
  • (25%) Routine administration and reconciliation of multiple financial databases by business and region (Essbase, SAP, BFC, BPC)
  • (15%) Prepare and support creation of Executive presentation
  • (10%) Prepares and sends out weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports and various management presentation
  • (10%) Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
  • (10%) Maintain, analyze and estimate BUCF (Business Unit Cash Flow) monthly

These activities will require (and develop) good communication skills, the ability to effectively partner cross-functionally with all personnel in finance and non-finance organizations, strong attention to detail, focus on high quality product while meeting critical corporate deadline and a high level of flexibility and adaptability.

Education and Experience Profile

  • Undergraduate Degree Finance/Accounting/Business Administration
  • MBA preferred
  • 4-6 years financial planning and analysis experience

Required Skills

These activities will require:

  • MS Office - Advanced skills in Excel, proficient in PowerPoint, Outlook and Word

  • Ability to learn and utilize new systems for streamlined financial reporting

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team oriented environment

  • General understanding of finance and accounting

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

  • Strong sense of ownership, responsibility and desire to expand knowledge

  • Flexible work schedule when needed

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skill

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under very tight deadlines

  • Ability to work under uncertainty, stringent deadlines and limited supervision

  • Business Partnering: Builds professional relationships based on trust, respect, and results

  • Self-motivated and self-driven

Preferred Skills

  • Experience/Knowledgeable in QAD/SAP or equivelant ERP system

  • Experience/knowledge with BFC or equivelant consolidation system

  • Experience/knowledge with Essbase/BPC or equivelant planning tool

  • Experience in creating financial models

  • Consumer Product industry experience
