The Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate FP&A Consolidation, is primarily responsible for leading the DSW Inc. projection process, corporate reporting and consolidation, and is the Hyperion FP&A Administrator. Reports to the Sr. Manager, Corporate FP&A.

Key Responsibilities:

  • DSW Inc. Projection Process

  • Prepare and maintain detailed financial models

  • Communicate timelines as needed

  • Prepare all projection related materials and reporting, and consolidate projection-related analysis from functional partners for distribution to senior leadership

  • Hyperion FP&A Administrator

  • Responsible for the integrity of the hierarchy and financial statements

  • Build out Hyperion capabilities to support the current and future business requirements

  • Establish a Hyperion "Center of Excellence"

  • Corporate Reporting and Consolidation

  • Prepare, maintain, and communicate corporate level reporting to cross functional partners and senior leadership

  • Understand financial drivers in order to accurately communicate changes within the DSW Inc. Financials

  • Develop effective and collaborative relationships with functional business partners, identifying efficiencies, as well as communicating and influencing actionable insights

  • Provide financial support and analysis to key business leaders on an ad-hoc basis


  • Lives the DSW Values of passion, accountability, collaboration, and humility

  • Excellent excel/financial modeling skill is required with at least a basic knowledge of PowerPoint and Word

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, store finance, public accounting, strategic planning experience is valued but not required

  • Ability to communicate and influence others by translating complex data into easily-understood ideas and recommendations

  • Takes initiative and is curious, driven, flexible/adaptable and detail oriented

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously and collaborates cross functionally

  • Prior experience with Hyperion Planning is required

  • Prior experience with the retail method of accounting is valued but not required

  • Undergraduate (B.S./B.A.) degree in Finance or Accounting is required, MBA is valued but not required

This role is responsible for supporting the end-to-end change management delivery following the Project Life Cycle (PLC) by converting business needs into measurable IT requirements and solutions. The Business Analyst will create impact assessments, write detailed test plans and execute test cases based on requirements. The successful candidate will partner with key business and technology partners to analyze business/operational processes, identify business and operational requirements, oversee technology build, manage user testing, and coordinate solution implementation. Key Responsibilities * Translate business needs into measurable IT requirements and solutions. * Lead development solutions providing enhanced functionality and reporting for existing corporate reporting platforms supported or owned by FIRS. * Work closely with business users and technology to architect the solution that delivers business objectives. * Work collaboratively with business, operations and technology partners to identify requirements and direct project delivery and solution implementation. * Write comprehensive and detailed impact assessments working with key stakeholders and operations. * Develop a thorough test plan. * Execute the test plan as written and document results in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) or Zephyr. * Provide testing updates to senior management and key stakeholders. * Establish a robust business analyst process to support the platform Book of Work. * Build and maintain key relationships with business stakeholders, and operations and technology partners. * Identify improvement opportunities to project delivery process, operational and/or corporate reporting solutions improvements. * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or MIS preferred. Business Analysis Certification a plus. * 5+ years of business analysis and process improvement experience, with 2 years of project related experience. * Ability to execute and document multiple projects with tight timelines while keeping key senior stakeholders, and technology and operations partners appropriately updated. * Experience with Agile methodology and Jira tool with demonstrated proficiency working through sprint planning and release implementation. * Experience with Essbase, Cognos, Business Objects or similar analytical/reporting tool is a plus. * Must be able to quickly interpret and understand requirements and possess the ability to effectively analyze requirements and propose appropriate solutions. * Capable of working independently or on teams across different locations, countries, and time zones. * Superior verbal and written communication skills * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff. * Ability to lead a diverse team of financial, project and business analysis professionals. * Strong MS Excel, MS Power Point, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and SharePoint skills required. * In depth understanding of finance and operations terminology as well as the Firm's financial infrastructure.
