Overview

The senior analyst performs detailed economic research, analyzing significant financial data, and preparing reports and recommendations to management. Further, she or he generates forecasts and analyzes trends in revenues, expenses, currency variations, and other areas of business, as well as researching and reporting economic progressions to assist the organization's financial planning. At this career level, the incumbent provides leadership and individual expertise in the conduct of major financial analysis for important issues. Using this high level of expertise, the analyst creates financial models of complex "what if" scenarios for future business planning decisions in areas such as new marketing programs and alternate ministry models. He or she often coaches and oversees the work of other analysts and related staff.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.

  • Acts as an advocate for children raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.

  • This senior analyst serves as a key member of teams that ensure financial viability and accountability is built into all programs and processes at Compassion.

  • As a primary and key contributor to Finance systems, including the Ministry Information Library, this analyst helps establish rules for maintaining historical information in the library for future research, analysis, and validation, while consulting with Finance management to ensure data accuracy across Finance systems and with the library.

  • The incumbent prepares the annual budget or a segment of the budget, for major clients or assigned work groups. He or she gathers input from all stakeholders, organizes and analyzes the data, and prepares it for approval and administration.

  • This senior professional analyst conducts detailed research and stays abreast of global economic trends and applies this knowledge to ongoing projects and processes as well as updating management and colleagues to assure successful and effective financial planning.

  • Leading ad hoc and regular finance teams, the analyst consults with all clients to create and publish data reports, providing detailed analytics for effective operation of the ministry. Ensuring extreme accuracy, consistency, and timeliness is a key component of this requirement.

  • The incumbent works individually and cross-functionally on teams to conduct financial analysis projects such as creating financial models of "what if" scenarios for future planning decisions in areas like new marketing programs, alternate ministry strategies, etc.

  • The senior analyst evaluates and analyzes major issues involving capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, operating records, and financial statements.

  • The incumbent frequently coaches and oversees the work of other financial analysts and related staff.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline; MBA preferred.

Job Summary We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team at our Colorado Springs, CO. This position will interact primarily with all functions and elements of the Mission Solutions organization, including Program Management, Engineering, Finance, Contracts and Operations and is therefore an excellent position for an individual who wants to be integral part of a team that is directly responsible for program execution. Job Responsibilities * Provide effective financial administrative planning and control on large/challenging development programs. * Develop program Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) for earned value / project management purposes * Establish a Contract Work Breakdown Structure (CWBS) and CWBS Dictionary * Perform analysis of program cost and schedule performance, identifying trends, and providing information to Project Leadership Team for corrective action implementation. * Extensive interaction with external customer, including the preparation and submission of customer cost & schedule related data items * Preparation and analysis of Estimates at Complete (EACs) and complete financial support to assigned program teams. * Support Program Management in assessing program risks and opportunities * Support teams in preparation for Integrated Baseline Reviews * Support Program Management in preparation of monthly sales forecasts * Provide Earned Value training to program teams * Display good verbal and written communication skills, be a team player, and have good working knowledge of company business systems and policies, contracting processes and earned value management techniques. * Accommodate unexpected events, achieve critical deadlines with quality results and perform as a flexible team member in support of the objectives and initiatives of Government Systems Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate discipline (Accounting / Finance) * 3+ years of experience in related field * Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance – (U.S. citizenship is required) * 3+ years of experience with Excel * Proven experience presenting to large groups and leadership * Ability to travel up to 10% Preferred Qualifications * Understanding of Earned Value Concepts Nothing matters more to Collins Aerospace than our strong ethical and safety commitments.
