Senior Financial Analyst

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will work for a company that invests in ways to tell stories, view trends, and diagnose results in a more compelling and visual nature. You will have the opportunity to partner with business customers on driving strategic business direction that leads to sustainable performance and you will be asked to challenge our current well-managed processes to be more proactive, effective and efficient. Senior Financial Analysts perform financial data analysis in preparing Profit & Loss or other statements and frequently build reports for higher level associates; provide management and business clients with project statuses; perform reporting and analysis to support presentation and ad-hoc requests.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:

  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights

  • Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior audiences

General Responsibilities:

  • Financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and Profit & Loss (P&L) management

  • Collaborate with system analysts to maintain and develop system to house models

  • Coordinate and collect input data from Financial Analysts in different departments, check data integrity, summarize and convert data, run models, verify, analyze, and communicate output data

  • Business presentations: Assist in development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences, clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams

  • Ad-hoc requests and special projects

  • Independently manage and prioritize workload

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 12 months' experience in financial analysis

  • At least 12 months' experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in Finance

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

  • 3+ years' experience in financial analysis

  • 3+ years' experience with financial modeling

POSITION SUMMARY: The primary responsibility for this position is to provide finance and accounting support to the US Commercial business unit through discussion, analysis and reporting. This is a highly visible position due to direct interactions with members of the US Senior Leadership Team and routine discussions with the US Commercial Financial Director. Additionally, the Sr. Financial Analyst will work closely with the Compliance team and other cross-functional teams to aggregate, analyse and report spend with healthcare professionals (HCP) in accordance with Federal and State transparency rules and regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Provide financial support and oversight for US Commercial operating expenses, primarily consisting of performing the following tasks: * Preparing and presenting monthly flash reporting to Sr. Leadership * Preparing, compiling and submitting month-end budget to actual results for various departments within the US Commercial business unit * Preparing recurring and month-end journal entries to facilitate month-end close * Preparing balance sheet account reconciliations * Partner with the business to develop and create financial forecasts * Fixed asset general ledger maintenance which includes capex consolidation / forecasting, oversight related to completion of capital expenditure request forms and coordination with various business partners * Financial lead responsible for ensuring timely and accurate submission of HCP spend in accordance with Federal and State transparency rules and regulations, which include the following tasks: * Aggregate and analyse data from multiple sources * Cross-functional teaming with key stakeholders within the business and the compliance team * Data error remediation * Developing standard operating procedures and processes related to transparency reporting while looking for opportunities to automate / streamline the process * Provide oversight and leadership to other finance associates * As needed, perform various ad hoc analyses for various stakeholders MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required MMINIMUM Field of Study: Accounting / Finance Experience: 3-8 Years License/Certifications: CPA designation preferred Travel: Below 5% domestic travel COMPETENCIES/CONDUCT: (Include any behavioral competencies).
