These are some of the most important questions at Amazon today. North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) will be the answer to many of those questions. Our Fulfillment Centers (FCs) utilize Amazon robotics, scanning machines, and computer systems that track millions of items in a day. As part of the team, you will utilize cutting edge data pipelines, build accurate predictive models, participate in new site launches, and deploy automated software solutions to provide forecasting insights to senior leadership (C suite) driving decisions effecting millions of customers globally.

NACF Finance is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to be the trusted finance partner at one of our sites. Experience with this team opens up several career opportunities across Amazon, e.g. senior roles supporting different business lanes, project management roles, and/or management opportunities locally, regionally, and globally.

Team Exposure:

This role will partner closely with a broad range of Finance and business leaders in Operations, HR, Technology, and Retail; as well as with research scientists, technical product managers, and software developers. This role will design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reporting on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business.

Success in this role:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated an ability to influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly evolving environment. Regular collaboration with executives and various business units across Amazon will allow you the opportunity to exhibit your verbal and written communication skills. A typical day in this role, provides an opportunity to improve and create new measures for site productivity, innovate creative solutions utilizing large scale data mining tools, identifying high priority work/projects to maximize results for key stakeholders, and solve complex problems effecting companywide strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interoperate data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon which may have global impact.

  • Responsible for delivering weekly/monthly financial close, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and consolidations utilizing financial systems and advance excel functions.

  • Create effective business partnership, manage competing priorities, and providing guidance during unexpected events

  • Intuitively utilize active listening skills to communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner, adjusting your style based on audience, to articulate complex finance issues

  • Collecting and analyzing quantitative data to develop relevant reports leading to cost reductions

  • Take part in hiring, developing, and mentoring activities while you seek value, and leverage diverse perspectives

  • Proactively identify opportunities to resolve finance defects and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.

  • Contribute to work life harmony by becoming a positive, collaborative, and effective influencer to new team members as an indicator of operations excellence.

Job Requirements

Travel 10%

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5+ years of finance experience, or master's degree and 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MSAccess, Essbase and/or Cognos) and other financial systems (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

  • MBA and/or Professional certification (CPA/CMA/Qualified Accounting certificate)

Job Purpose To drive the successful delivery of change and improvement activities identified from Customer Journey maps and subsequent VSA or RIE events that deliver quantifiable value. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Support development of the Customer Experience Vision and Strategy that will be aligned with each of the LoB business objectives. The nature of these improvement projects means that they will likely involve instigating and driving change. This needs to be considered explicitly from the start of any projects as part of the project charter or RIE goals and suitable activities included in the plan e.g. clear goals, identification of team with effective change agents, excellent communication etc. From the outset of any project engage targeted end beneficiaries and other stakeholders to understand their current modus operandi and ways to support the transition them from current to future ways of working. Work with the EnerSys PMO, EOS and Quality Teams to develop, implement and continuously improve best practice process for the execution of improvement projects that can be part of the EnerSys QMS. Work with the project sponsor and board to identify stakeholders and prepare and deliver a communication plan. Strong relationship management skills based on a clear definition and understanding of what the customer values and prioritises. Work closely with the Director of Customer Journeys in planning project management needs for the year to deliver improvements as soon as possible following CJM and VSA/RIE activities. Work with the project sponsor to identify and define the project charter, objectives, metrics and plan for their completion and monitoring of their delivery. Gather and analyse appropriate data associated with the project scope to ensure planning and decisions are made based on data and evidence. Support the gathering of data with affected teams should it not exist. Ensure responsibilities and accountabilities for tasks and deliverables are clearly defined, communicated and accepted. Identify and actively manage the risks associated with the projects on an ongoing basis and throughout the lifetime of the project. Clearly categorise risk levels and determine mitigating actions to deal with the risk(s). Work with stakeholders to develop realistic plans to support project execution, cost analysis and resource planning. Consider feasibility or risk reduction activities as pre-project steps to minimise business risk. Utilise the chosen PMO project management tool for planning eg Smartsheet. Active cost management to forecast and control spend. Clear communication of tasks to team members to enable completion on time, to specification and to budget. Unless stated explicitly in the project charter expect to provide weekly summary updates on project progress. This should cover progress to plan, achievements, issues, risks, costs and resources. Prepare project summary reports that can be used for wider general communication about CX activities and delivered improvements. Create and maintain a dashboard that charts the progress of all projects and key indicators as a portfolio report. Development of individual project KPIs and project performance dashboard. Identify, phase and deliver appropriate training material and training as best fits with stakeholders preferences, to maximize onboarding effectiveness, speed of adoption and ROI. Support the development and delivery of project related training activities that can improve the engagement and knowledge of project team members.
