About the Job

The Senior Financial Analyst is a key role within the Services Finance team. This role will provide financial analysis and reporting of business results for the Global Services and Support (GSS) Customer Solutions Group (CSG) Americas organization. The Senior Financial Analyst will drive all financial and operational aspects of the business as well as be a trusted advisor for the CSG Americas leadership team. This role will also partner with other members of the Services Finance team and the broader Finance organization, Services management and extended team.

Key responsibilities will include monthly and quarterly financial and operational reporting for the CSG Americas business and business driver analytics. The individual in this role will work closely with cross functional stakeholders to drive a clear understanding of business drivers through clear analytics, operational metrics, business insights and regular reporting of financial results. This role will also require an individual who can identify, prepare and implement process improvements.

About the Team

The Senior Financial Analyst will be an integral part of Akamai's Services Finance team and will report to the Director, Services Finance. The Services Finance team owns all financial and operational analysis for the Services business unit and directly supports leadership of the Services organization. The team is responsible for forecasting and analysis related to bookings and all P&L areas, including Revenue, COGS and OpEx.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a business partner and business analyst for CSG Americas, ensuring day-to-day oversight of Akamai's Services business using Oracle Business Intelligence, Tableau, Salesforce and other system

  • Assist with weekly/monthly/quarterly discussions and business reviews with the CSG Americas organization, identifying and analyzing trends

  • Distribute and analyze operational metrics to monitor productivity and revenue performance

  • Analyze data for trends that indicate problems to address or opportunities to investigate

  • Work closely with other internal customers to understand current and future business needs

  • Assist with providing leadership team with insightful decision support/business analysis

  • Understand competitive landscape, including business strategies, cost structures and key business metrics

  • Share best practices and collaborate with Finance and Sales Operations teams across the company.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience with financial and strategic analysis and business partnering AND a BS/BA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business required OR Minimum 6 years of experience and advanced degree.

  • Ability to package accurate financial data/information in an executive manner focused on driving business decisions.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; can effectively work with people across multiple levels of the organization and is comfortable working cross functionally.

  • Clear thinking/problem solving; able to quickly grasp new ideas, organize complex information and successfully lead initiatives and projects cross functionally.

  • High degree of comfort and experience with moving from data gathering, through focused analysis, to clear, accurate and compelling story telling of key business drivers and business insights.

  • Demonstrated drive for results, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Curious, self-starter who consistently takes the initiative to address questions and build new processes/structures.

  • Flexible; able to quickly and successfully adapt to change.

  • Able to anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues.

  • Experience supporting a Professional services organization is preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience working in the high tech industry.

  • Familiarity with Hyperion, Oracle Business Intelligence, Tableau, Salesforce, Microsoft Office.
