Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst at our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, PA.

The Gardner and Rotoflow Senior Financial Analyst role provides an outstanding opportunity to gain exposure to and experience in two key niche equipment businesses at Air Products that are both poised for growth potential. This role specifically supports Gardner Cryogenics, our world leader in helium transportation and storage equipment and Rotoflow, our turboexpander new equipment and aftermarket services business. This senior analyst will fill a broad-based role reporting directly to the Integrated Equipment Controller, and responsibilities will include cost and profitability analysis, acquisition valuation, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) integration, financial planning and reporting, ad hoc analysis, and strategic decision making.

  • Financial Support: The analyst will partner with the senior leaders of the Gardner and Rotoflow businesses by providing financial leadership and analysis in all aspects of the business through a deep understanding of the associated financial statements and a proactive approach to improvement of business performance.

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: The analyst will lead the monthly financial results and annual operating plan processes for the two businesses. The analyst will use SAP, Analysis, and other tools to develop profitability, cost absorption reporting and other key reports that provide insight into business performance.

Principal accountabilities

  • Work independently to understand cost and profit trends in our Gardner & Rotoflow equipment business

  • Develop reports and ad hoc analysis to help the Gardner & Rotoflow business teams understand trends, business performance, and assist with business decision making

  • Manage due diligence and valuation for M&A opportunities using multiple valuation techniques. If an M&A opportunity is signed, successfully lead the integration process, to include SAP preparation, Transition Services management with the seller, and establishing new processes and procedures to support integration into Air Products

  • Prepare financial analysis to help assess potential business growth activities

  • Continually work to develop and implement new methods and procedures surrounding key finance processes to drive process improvements and efficiency.

  • Lead and help to prepare financial inputs to our annual operating plan for both Gardner and Rotoflow businesses

  • Timely and proactively communicate issues for action to senior business leaders and finance leadership when appropriate

Experience and qualifications

  • MBA (or equivalent masters degree) with a finance concentration

  • 6+ years of financial analysis experience

  • M&A experience a plus, but not required

  • Effective organization, interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills

  • Experience with SAP R3, Analysis for Excel, and Business Warehouse (BW) a plus, but not required.

The analyst is also responsible for the recording and maintenance of several network expense and balance sheet reconciliations.</p><p>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p><ul><li><p>Perform the month end close including journal entries and account reconciliations.</p></li><li><p>Prepare monthly financial statements for the St. Luke's University Health Network entities.</p></li><li><p>Maintain knowledge of FASB/GAAP and other rules governing Accounting practices current and apply them to work.</p></li><li><p>Prepare audit workpapers and provide assistance to external auditors.</p></li><li><p>Compile workpapers and financial data as requested by the Reimbursement Department for the annual Cost report.</p></li><li><p>Assist in the preparation of federal and other information &amp; regulatory returns.</p></li><li><p>Assist in development of accounting policies and procedures.</p></li></ul><p>PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:</p><p>Sitting up to 7 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Continuously uses fingers and hands for typing, data entry, etc. <br><br> Uses upper extremities to lift up to 30 pounds. Frequently stoops, bends, and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation and telephone. <br><br> Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision and peripheral vision. Visual monotony when reading reports and reviewing computer screen.</p><p>EDUCATION:</p><p>Bachelors Degree in Accounting. CPA, MBA preferred.</p><p>TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:</p><p>Five years experience in working with integrated financial accounting systems and financial statement preparation required. CPA and auditing experience preferred.</p><p>Superior Excel skills.</p><p>HOURS:</p><p>Based out of St. Luke's Center, Allentown, PA. <br><br> Hybrid/remote available for local candidates (PA, NJ) after training at manager discretion.
