Who We Are

Wayfair's Finance group is looking for a Senior Analyst of Accounts Receivable to join our team! This is a fast-paced position at a growing public company. This person will work closely with team members across various departments on all aspects of Accounts Receivable, including internal/external financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and system/process improvements. This is a dynamic role and offers exposure to many areas of accounting and operations.

What You'll Do

  • Help build scalable processes to support high growth to manage receivables, payments, analytics and reporting

  • Analyze and identify trends/patterns in large amounts of data related to our revenue, which has been growing at close to 40% year over year

  • Analyze outstanding revenue that we've failed to collect to identify issues and determine the best financial and operational attack plans

  • Determine new sources of data we should be tracking and analyzing to improve our revenue collections process and oversight

  • Work cross-functionally and partner with other business groups at Wayfair e.g., Sales, Product Management, Payments, Fraud and Engineering - to help them drive their business results and understand the underlying drivers of AR

  • Work with teammates to identify, analyze, and resolve order payment issues

  • Review department processes and procedures and recommend areas for improvement on an ongoing basis

Job Description The primary focus of this position is to support the business unit through financial analysis and operating model development that will critically analyze various initiatives and make recommendations to senior management. He/she will work closely with Finance, IT, Sales Operations, sales management, product management and our National and Key account areas to ensure their Financial application's output is accurate and complete. The position requires a highly motivated, analytically minded individual to join our Finance team and help the organization make informed business decisions and will support the organization with strategic thinking and ad-hoc analysis along with supporting reporting and budgeting. The ideal candidate is an individual who thrives in a fast past, less structured environment than your typical corporate setting. This individual will be a key member of the Finance team and must be willing to roll up their sleeves and hit the ground running with a positive attitude. He/she must have an aptitude/background/education that enables them to perform sophisticated analysis on the business and its initiative. Responsibilities: * Provide sophisticated analytic support to departments around key business initiatives as well as analysis on ad- hoc requests * Analyze business opportunities, develop functional plans and establish /measure key business drivers and performance measures * Ability to demonstrate logical thinking in order to gather and analyze a variety of information and make sound recommendations to senior management * Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills * Demonstrates a consultative orientation * Able to think strategically and operate effectively with management * Diagnose complex information, while identifying pertinent information to facilitate the decision making process * Ability to synthesize analysis down to a succinct story with different proposals, costs and likely outcomes * Ability to influence and persuade * Build a deep business partner relationship across the organization and with the business unit senior management – become "a trusted advisor to the business" * Strategic Thinker and excellent presentation skills * Build relationships with other key constituents such as shared service functions in order to receive data and analysis that will assist in generating our analysis * Researches and recommends best practices and assists in implementation * Excellent time management and organizational ability * Ability to prioritize tasks that make a difference and do what it will take to get them done and continually look for ways to improve processes to meet quality and delivery standards * Ability to multitask and meet constant deadlines * Willingness to work long hours, when necessary * Manages and prioritizes own workload to ensure delivery of client services by due dates * Perform as a department team member by assisting co-workers with overloads and contributing to team projects * Develop and maintain standard reporting to be consumed across all levels of the organization , both internally and externally * Prepare new or enhanced monthly and quarterly reporting (or one time analytic reports on ad-hoc initiatives) * Completes special projects, as requested or assigned; expense studies, pricing analysis, expansion projections, etc. * Assist with the overall coordination, management and execution of the budgeting and forecasting processes * Trains others in department as needed Desired Qualifications * 5-7 years of mutual fund experience * Masters degree in business administration, finance, economics or related field preferred. Candidate may also possess industry specific qualifications such as CFA, CIMA or other designations * Excellent advanced analytical and problem solving skills; they are able to organize data, critically analyze it, gain insights into what is occurring and be able to assess whether this has positive or negative implications to the business * Demonstrates consultative orientation * Strong communication/presentation skills (written and verbal): Ability to readily pivot communication efforts to the chosen channels, platforms and styles of everyone you encounter * Self-starter, self-driven, self-monitoring * Someone with the drive and eagerness to want to move their career upwards in 3 yrs * Works well within a team / collaborative/able to share and take input * Demonstrates strong and confident leadership skills. * Executing with excellence: can take on more responsibility from their leader to support deliverables against standards and deadlines.
