Kohl & Frisch is fully equipped to service large chain retailers, independent pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals for all their Rx, OTC, home healthcare, and front shop needs.Primary Role of This Position The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for leveraging his/her exceptional analytical skills to utilize data and available systems to support a comprehensive financial analysis for key management decisions.Other key responsibilities include ensuring accounting integrity of key areas resulting in accurate financial statements. Value add insights into the financial results. Ability to drive efficiencies and change management.
Major Responsibilities
Month End Management Reporting – provide monthly reporting packages for key areas of the P&L and Balance Sheet
Create new reporting as required to meet changing business needs
Other weekly & monthly reporting to management for certain key business indicators
Month End Accounting – journal entries, accruals and analysis leading to adjusting entries
Interact with both internal and external parties for issue resolution, reporting, reconciliations, explanations, etc.
Support year end external audits and other year end requirements, working closely with the Audit team to provide information and explanations with respect to inquiries
Assist in the preparation of key components of the annual financial budget
Communicate results to key personnel with financial recommendations
Initiate, support and contribute to special projects, process improvements and automation
Influence a culture of continuous improvement by implementing process and job efficiencies
Other analysis and projects as required of the position
Education
University degree in Commerce (i.e., BBA, BCom) and/or MBA
Accounting designation required (CPA, CA, CMA)
5 years of progressive experience in financial planning, preferably in a wholesale/distribution environment
Qualifications
Expert skill level in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, macros)
Very strong financial, technical, and analytical skills
Strong accounting knowledge and high level of attention to detail
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to deal with other functions and senior management
Proactive and takes initiative
A self-starter who thrives on preparing analysis to understand business performance and change management
An independent worker who can balance workload to get things done in a timely and accurate manner
Demonstrates a very high interest level and aptitude for systems applications to facilitate analysis or improve efficiencies
