POSITION DEFINITION: Senior Financial Analyst
Under the direction of the Financial Planning Supervisor, the Senior Analyst assists in preparation of annual budget, conducts monthly actual vs. budget flux analyses, develops and maintains cashflow forecast model to evaluate monthly short-term borrowing requirement, prepares quarterly covenants calculations and assesses the quarterly dividend requirement, and assists in completion of quarterly reports, and analyzes new businesses. This position requires a well rounded background in accounting and finance.
As a skilled employee and responsible professional, the incumbent must work independently, exercise initiative and judgment in the performance of a broad range of administrative support responsibilities in an environment of routinely sensitive and confidential issues. Therefore, the employee must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of the company's management staff, visitors and vendors.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Sr. Analyst interfaces with various internal departments and must work exceptionally well with employees of all levels. The person in this position is responsible for embracing and utilizing available technology as communication and data gathering tools in performing routine and complex a duties for the financial planning team. Core responsibilities include the following:
Interfaces with various business owners to complete annual capital and operations budget
Responsible for the development of water and electric budget matrix
Responsible for the monthly flux write up between actual versus budget
Provides insightful analyses on trended Return on Equity and Rate of Return for both actual and budget
Assists in the administration of Company's stock incentive program
Supports Supervisor and Manager in analyzing acquisitions and new business opportunities
Assists in updating and modifying company's financial forecast model and provides insightful what if scenarios
Responsible for providing gap analysis between Street Analysts EPS expectation versus company's internal budget
Assists the Manager on general cash management and treasury function includes but not limited to the monitoring of libor borrowing capacity and the need for equity and debt infusion
Develop a meaningful cashflow model to project monthly and quarterly cash requirement
Assists in the preparation of quarterly balance sheet reconciliation as related to the Finance Area
Assists Manager and the Supervisor on the data compilation for the rate case filings and responsible for the data compilation on the quarterly audit requests
Updates Sarbanes Oxley document and ensures control compliance; cooperates with internal and external auditors with information requested
Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Economic, Finance, and Accounting or related discipline.
Six years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budget/projection, and treasury management
Ability to read and analyze financial reports and present information
Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with other departments and personnel.
