A business unit within the Combat Systems Group of General Dynamics, we are a world leader in the manufacture of large-, medium-, and small-caliber direct- and indirect-fire munitions, mortar weapons and systems, artillery projectiles, bomb bodies, Ball Powder Propellant, solid propellants, non-lethal products and Force Protection products. The company also manufactures precision metal components; provides explosive load, assemble and pack services for a variety of munitions, tactical missile and rocket programs; and designs and produces shaped charge warheads and control actuator systems.

We are hiring Senior Finance Manager/Plant Controller for our Anniston, AL location. In this role, you will lead finance department and build strong relationships with other sites resulting effective communication.


  • Communicate business risks with upper management

  • Establishes, or recommends to management objectives and policies for company.

  • Directs preparation of financial information for monthly reporting including compilation and analysis of data, preparation of balance sheet and profit and loss statement.

  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Provides analysis of financial risk and opportunities

  • Leads the contract estimates at completion process.

  • Directs preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.

  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.

  • Directs determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets.

  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.

  • Preparation and coordination of audits of company's accounts.

  • Establishes relationships with banks and other financial institutions.


Directly supervises 5 employees in the Accounting & Finance Departments. Position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Responsibility includes ensuring compliance with all environmental and safety programs within the GD-OTS facility.


Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA preferred; Over 10 years related experience in a Finance Management level. Experience in manufacturing accounting (including cost analysis and budgeting) and governmental accounting preferred. DoD experience preferred.

Effectively communicates logic and technical processes supporting the analytic solutions. * Effectively consult others and influence organizational change, behavior and results Job Qualifications * Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years or a Master's Degree and 3-5 years related experience in a quantitative discipline (applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, operations research or related field) * Experience (5-7yr) leading projects and process modeling (PMBOK, waterfall, agile, BPM, Lean). * Experience (1-3yr) of data manipulation and using statistical analysis software (R/SAS/SPSS) * Experience (5-7yr) with conducting descriptive statistics and exploratory data analysis (univariate, bivariate, distribution, correlation, histogram, scatter, box plots, trend lines, text mining) * Experience (1-3yr) of conducting inferential statistics analysis (confidence intervals, margin of error, analysis of variance, hypothesis testing) * Experience (1-3 yr) business application and evaluation of predictive analytics (regression, decision trees, clustering, time series) * Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (ex: SUMIF, vlookup/hlookup, conditional formatting, pivot tables, if) * Experience with relational databases and data warehouses (Oracle, Teradata) * Knowledge of data management and data visualization software (Business Objects, Tableau, SQL) * Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex technical ideas * Advanced time management skills including ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize and organize The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
