The Role :

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Accountant / Business Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will work closely with project teams and support the financial management of multiple projects with a focus on operational financial accounting, analytics, process improvement and changes management. You will provide financial guidance and insights to stakeholders to drive informed decision making and achieve business objectives. You will also be responsible for providing financial support and decision making for other members of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Finance leader for the US business and a Business Partner to the US leadership team on all financial aspects of the business.

  • Three areas of focus / Responsibility in the US

oTechnical Accounting

oFinancial Planning & Analysis

oTransactional Finance (AP, AR, Cash App, Invoicing)

  • Lead, manage and provide support to other members of the Finance team in each of the above areas.

Technical Accounting:

  • Liaise on financial regulatory compliance (IFRS, US GAAP) with the external auditors for each of the group companies in the US. Assist with the company Audit across the group companies in the US ensuring completion within established timelines.

  • Liaise with external tax consultants for each of the group companies in the US to provide support on tax related matters / questions.

  • Liaise with Europe Finance team within Catalyx on all regulatory and tax matters to ensure alignment of responses.

  • Lead accounting related projects, e.g., Transfer pricing, R&D/Capitalization policies, Tax strategy implementation. FX management policies and system roll outs.

  • Support month-end and year-end financial close processes for projects, including revenue recognition, work-in-progress and deferred revenue, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data, with a focus on financial accounting.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Provide financial guidance and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, including project cost analysis, risk management, and business case development.

  • Partner with project teams to support financial management of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Monitor project financial performance and provide regular updates to senior management and project teams, with a focus on product profitability assessments. Implement KPI dashboards. Collaboratively working with operations team on tracking of metrics.

  • Lead the monthly forecast process for the US entities and liaise with Global FP&A lead to ensure accurate and timely completion.

  • Analyze the cost base within group companies, understanding the cost drivers and working with Departments Managers to propose and implement cost saving initiatives.

  • Participate and assist in the enhancement and implementation of systems and processes to facilitate business operations and reporting.

Transaction Finance:

  • Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions / teams within the US business to ensure strict monthly deadlines and KPIs are achieved.

  • Monitor cash requirements for US companies, ensuring correct funding across US bank accounts.

  • Oversight on payroll in US companies ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • CPA with 7-10 years of progressive experience within Finance.

  • 3-5 years of relevant leadership experience in finance, with experience in change management an advantage but not compulsory.

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and Technical Accounting skills.

  • Strong financial analytics skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI and experience with financial systems such as ERP or project management software.
