POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Support the ES SM US & Oncology Finance team in closing, planning and reporting activities

  • Perform closing tasks and internal controls

  • Perform Budget versus Actual analysis and recommend corrective actions

  • Business partnering work with cost center managers to develop functional spend plan/forecasts and to calculate purchase price variance/cogs variances.

  • Support the standard cost calculation and change analysis

  • Accounting/Control ensure compliance with SOX, U.S. GAAP and Takeda accounting policies and procedures, e.g. perform CMO reconciliations and research variances (CMO records vs. SAP).

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Finance representative for the Oncology Supply Chain, key contact for various organizations to oversee the end to end supply chain and financials, responsible for influencing and achieving financial KPI's and budget/forecast targets

  • Manages the "region" functional and project cost including Quality. Supports the monthly reporting process, recommend actions.

  • P&L co-ownership for functional cost/ FTE, OCOS, Standard Costing calculations for externally manufactured products and Inventory Values. This includes COGS Variances, inventory changes and inventory write-off/reserve analysis.

  • Manage the monthly closing and reporting process including recommendations for corrective actions.

  • Provide monthly reporting packages including variance explanations to Finance Lead

  • Support the oversight of the Oncology part of the annual standard costing build.

  • Execute the annual standard costing process for Oncology. Ensure oversight for the end to end view. Prepare year over year change analysis to the Finance Lead in the required format.

  • Ensure financial / data integrity and compliance with an effective and sustainable internal control framework.

  • Support financial projects and program effectiveness for Global Manufacturing Supply Finance and External Supply.

  • Focus on making recommendations for enhancing existing processes and developing financial models and business case analysis used in supporting key decisions.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance and seven (7) or more years of relevant experience

  • MBA and CPA (or equivalent) is a plus

  • Extensive experience with SAP

  • TM1 and Hyperion Financial Manager (HFM) is a strong plus

  • Experience engaging with Global business partners

  • Strong business acumen and ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills (need intellectual "curiosity")

  • Knowledge of Sox controls and GAAP accounting principles, especially manufacturing accounting

  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal communication and collaboration skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint)

POSITION OBJECTIVES: Ensure the uninterrupted supply of finished goods which meet all quality requirements to support the oncology and small molecules market demands in the US and countries being supplied from CMOs in the US. Develop regional supply chain strategies, manage supply chain metrics and projects in the region. This will be accomplished through planning and on-time execution of strategic projects, commercialization plans, commercial CMC support, developing and implementing sourcing strategies and supply chain management strategies. The scope of this role includes responsibility for the following activities: * S&OP, supply planning and demand aggregation for small molecule products * CMO management for the full Oncology and small molecules portfolio in partnership with Procurement * Execute launches for small molecule and Oncology from CMOs in the US * Continuous improvement strategy and execution for the operating unit * Management of regional OpU manufacturing sciences supporting product improvements and issue resolution * Artwork management POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: * Represent senior management at key meetings within Takeda, licensors, third party contractors, and regulatory agencies. Serve as lead or assign lead negotiator on operational contract negotiations * Lead and manage the strategic and operational performance of the region with direct responsibility for operations and partnership with the Head of Quality and functional business partners to ensure the successful delivery of business strategy, key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives * Lead and manage the relationship with and performance of CMOs including the need to provide support/guidance for compliance, capacity and new product related projects/programs. * Meet financial P&L targets for the company and ensure company value growth * Develop annual business plans and monitor through periodic reviews * Ensure efficient product supply into and out of the US market to meet commercial strategies, goals and corporate commitments * Develop and maintain a regional supply chain strategy for the US that is aligned with the global supply chain vision and objectives and with the other regions in global Oncology and ES SM OpU. * Develop plans and initiatives to balance product availability, improve supply chain risk and overall utilization * Provide visibility to long-term supply situations and for escalation to global management * Provide due diligence, operational and sourcing assessments of new compounds and potential in-licensing candidates * Analyze product inventory plans including inventory levels, scrap, inventory purchases and consumption. Develop safety stock strategies for drug product and packaging (strategic and operational) * Anticipate roadblocks, both intellectual and political, and proactively address issues before they impact business results * Analyze and develop production and packaging supply strategies to support regulatory filings and proper balancing of production volumes, ensuring current and future requirements can be met in accordance with the global strategic plan * Responsible for overseeing and approving scenario analysis that drive short and long range production plans * Identify process improvement opportunities, key issues, development of conclusions and implementation plans supported with qualitative and quantitative analysis * Assess business continuity preparedness within the region and participate on corporate initiative as developed * Work cross functionally to understand short and long term requirements affecting commercial supply i.e. finance, commercial, development, clinical, etc * Use expertise to influence strategy, planning, manufacturing and supply chain processes * Establish a process for periodic review and dissemination of information that represents the health of the supply chain and performance against KPIs to key leaders and stakeholders * Support site selection process to ensure consistency with commercial strategy * Maintain senior level communication lines with all sources of demand and supply * Review and approve business cases to support project prioritization. EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: * Bachelor's degree in science, business or management * Graduate degree in pharmacy, chemistry or other relevant technical degree desired EXPERIENCE: * 15+ years pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience in at least two of the following cross-functional areas: manufacturing, engineering, product development, project management, quality or procurement * 5+ years experience related to international operations and/or supply chain * Strong understanding of cGMP * Solid background in production, supply chain and regulatory requirements. * Experience in utility of outsourced goods and service providers * Held a position in which the ability to influence senior executives was demonstrated, as well as sound creative skills to utilize both traditional and innovative solutions * Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of product commercialization including product development, manufacturing, project management, supply chain management, operations, outsourcing and post commercialization technical support * Must have experience managing teams for high performance. Must be able to present ideas with clarity, conviction and confidence. Must have a strong network among industry outsourcing/technical/business leaders. DESIRED: * Experience in two or more of the following areas: engineering, operations/production manager or materials manager, pharmacist/scientist. * Knowledge - comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry or related processes from a manufacturing environment in a large multi-national prescription drug manufacturer or related organization * Communication - ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner internally and externally * Strategic Implementation - ability to implement and monitor the overall supply chain strategy through knowledge of company's operations, procurement expertise, industry knowledge and competitive analysis * Management - leadership, project planning, status tracking, conflict resolution, building high performing teams and partnering with other departments and across cultures * People Development - ability to assess strengths and weaknesses of staff members and provide suggestions for improvement and opportunities to mentor staff * Analytical Skills - ability to analyze a wide variety of data including product data, freight, forecasted sales, historical demand, in-transit and potential stock-out figures to make daily management and production decisions * Supplier Relationship Management - builds mutually beneficial relationships between company and third party vendors, fosters strong rapport with local and global partners to maintain a highly reliable supply chain and high level of customer service * Takeda Operations - comprehensive understanding of Takeda's operations.
