Senior Finance Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Finance Analyst on Government Cost Plus and T&M contracts to perform cost control. (Temporary Hire. Position has the potential to become a permanent hire)

Telework is available with this position.

  • Serves as the principal point of contact on financial matters for assigned contracts.

  • Provides Daily leadership, coaching and direction to direct reports.

  • Manages various financial functions such as budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.

  • Conducts financial analysis and reporting to ensure costs are controlled and profits maximized.

  • Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as FAR, SOX, CAS and other government regulations.

  • Develop and maintain Estimates to Complete (EAC's) across various projects (Cost-Type, T&M, Fixed Price, etc.)

  • Preparation of internal and external financial reporting as required by contract or to assist other functions throughout the organization, including Monthly Contract Report.

  • Interface with the following functional departments: contracts, subcontracts, accounting, accounts payable and purchasing

  • Provide direction and instruction to billing shared services for preparation and submission of invoices

  • Ensure business is delivering timely and accurate internal and external financial deliverables. Engages with program management and supporting functions to resolve complex contractual and financial issues. Anticipates and understands customer needs and takes proactive action to meet those needs.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing is important

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.


7 or more years of related finance or business analysis experience

Basic Compensation:

Pay range: $84,700 - $127,100

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.

The candidate selected will work daily with key stakeholders within the program and finance team to help make key programmatic and financial decisions. Additional Responsibilities: * Perform analysis and reporting to ensure projects are within negotiated and agreed upon budgets * Prepare project budgets and provide analysis such as time-phased labor and non-labor expenditure profiles * Creation of content and ability to present data to support program, financial and operations reviews * Lead program teams and compile estimate at completion (EACs) for capital reviews * Lead metrics and financial performance reviews with Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads * Create cost control system to enable monitoring and cost management * Data mining across diverse data sets * Support business managers with determining budgets, tracking budgets to actuals and other performance metrics * Performs risk & opportunity analyses and provide potential solutions. Work with IPT Leads to develop recovery plans * Lead multi-year planning process with IPT Leads * Identify, analyze and report results of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance variances to budget and forecast * Support key business analytics and key performance indicator generation Qualifications: * Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, or other highly analytical field * 8+ years of financial and business analytics experience * 4+ years of financial support in a manufacturing environment * Excellent written communication and presentation skills * Expert level skills in Microsoft Excel * Experience in helping business managers meet financial targets and deliver results. * Understanding of underlying business processes and the impact of financial decisions * Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum Desired: * MBA, CPA or Master's Degree in Finance Experience with Deltek, COBRA, or other cost/schedule integration tools ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158.
