Senior Field Service Technician

To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Our

senior technicians lead and perform testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear,

motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field. For more information about RMS Energy, please visit:

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and perform start-up of low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 15kV.

• Test low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, MV cable, switchgear, and motor controllers.

• Perform testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing tests

• Complete mechanical work and repairs on breakers, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacement

• Paint breakers and parts; wire circuit breakers

• Utilize and accurately read meters

• Accurately read schematics and wiring drawings with proper interpretations to the work

• Perform troubleshooting on circuit breaker controls

• Read and plot all time-current curves

• Test power and current transformers, including Power Factor and TTR.

• Accurately and consistently document Power DB use.

• Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently troubleshoot and repair electrical systems

• Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted

• Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure as needed

• Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule

• Log all services and report progress to management

• Utilize and store all equipment properly

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred
• 3-5 years of related experience in power plants, industrial services, primary power distribution and related protection and control

schemes

• Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems experience

• Licensures and Certifications: NETA 2, 3, or 4 preferred

• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Valid Driver's license with clean driving record

• Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment

Skills:

• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Employs professional and effective communication in dealing with internal and external stakeholders

• Manages time efficiently with the ability to work and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines

• Self-driven and exhibits the ability to work with minimal supervision
