Senior field servicetechnician (FST) is a part-time role (with working hours targeted at less than1,000 total hours during a 12-month period), working out of your home office,to meet expanded equipment and service requirements both internally andexternally. The work includes the installation, troubleshooting, repair, andmaintenance of chemical dispensing equipment and commercial dishwashers(warewash machines) and troubleshooting chemical product interactions, allcombined with a high level of customer interaction.

Some on-call weekendand off-hours work is required on a rotational basis. The work must be done ina way that supports year-to-year volume and profit results, improve customerretention, and delivers superior customer service and team building results.

The ideal candidatewould have a background in electronics, plumbing, maintenance or mechanicalsystems. Commercial mechanical warewash equipment and chemical dispensing pumpsexpertise is a plus, as is proficiency and ability to read schematic drawings.Other desirable skills: excellent working knowledge of appropriate tools, data,implements and service needs; NRA ServSafe or NEHA CP-FS certification;understanding regulatory and plumbing requirements in the areas that affect ourmechanical warewash program; proficient in laptop and tablet technology toinclude but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and mechanical warewashprogram controllers.

Essential JobFunction:

  • Work schedule may include: 12 hour shifts, 5 day work week, occasional weekends, and night shifts

  • Lift, lower and carry objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Push and pull objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Climb a vertical ladder, ability to go up and down

  • Climb up and down stairs

  • Stand, sit, and/or walk for long periods of time, twist, bend at the knees, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and reach for purposes of installing and maintaining equipment. Surface: concrete, asphalt (uneven surfaces).

  • Operate a computer keyboard to input and access data, and phone

  • The ability to work in extreme temperatures both hot and cold, generally in warehouse conditions including wide variances in temperature, dust and dirt

  • The ability to give and discern the various visual and audible alarms and signals for equipment startup, evacuation, and fires

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Candidate must be able to operate a motor vehicle, and spend approximately 30% of the day in the car traveling from accounts safely in city, rural and expressway conditions

Other Requirements

  • Candidate must live within 25 miles of the specified city.

  • Rotational on-call coverage which may include occasional weekends, holidays and night shifts

The person in this role is responsible for diagnosing and completes less complex repairs to engines at the customer's site. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION * Respond to all customer requests courteously and professionally, in a timely and responsive manner. * Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times, meeting all Company standards for professional appearance. * Advise the Service Supervisor of parts needed for necessary repairs. BUSINESS * Document detailed, complete and legible descriptions of all repair operations performed, using required all forms and procedures. * Accurately record time, expenses, and mileage. * Demonstrate a positive attitude and a high level of personal credibility and integrity with dealers, customers, management, and co-workers. OTHER * Maintain company and product confidentiality. * Attend and participate in all meetings, training and activities as required. * Stay apprised of new techniques relevant to the work being performed; achieve and maintain technical competency. * Adhere to all Company policies and departmental procedures and rules. * All other duties as required. KEY RESONSIBILITIES: * Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner.
