A Day in the Life
The Field Inventory Senior Manager is an innovative Operations Leader responsible for providing direct leadership and support to customers and the field on inventory optimization. Key partners include RTG Global Supply Chain, RTG Sales Organization, and Corporate Customer Care. This position will be responsible for both ensuring on-going daily operations and continuous improvement in improving the efficiency of use of field inventory dollars. This role also includes developing, advocating, and enabling others with tools and methodologies to identify and improve processes. This position will focus on opportunities within our value stream surrounding Global Supply Chain, Customer Service, field to customer interface and internal customer/Medtronic exchanges.
Responsible for addressing and executing issues related to field actions
Work with distributors and sales reps to determine inventory levels and set placement to meet required turn rate, geographic and strategic objectives.
Manage relationships with Sales organization focusing on customer engagements and continuous improvement
Interface with IT for Supply Chain business systems daily and project-based needs; including the future technology roadmaps for field inventory applications
Develop and initiate cost saving programs as it relates to inventory, assets, and transportation
Provide direct input and guidance to Neurovascular Sales Ops field inventory strategy
Create, prepare, and communicate monthly executive inventory reports to senior management
Lead and coach team members and others through kaizen events and problem solving to develop internal competencies and solve challenging business problems related to field inventory work processes.
Ensure that projects initiated are linked to strategic and tactical imperatives and that work aligns and conforms to quality and compliance requirements.
Updating quarterly quality metrics for the legacy Neuromodulation BU's
Use of Six Sigma, Lean Sigma, and other appropriate improvement techniques.
Work with Global Demand team and BU marketing to represent US markets in the planning and execution of global inventory and asset management strategy
Location Minneapolis, MN or Memphis, TN
Responsible for the development and deployment of RTG US Field Inventory Strategy and accelerate the rate of continuous improvement in our businesses.
Accountability for results to be achieved through managing a team of direct reports
Ability to successfully influence and manage all levels of the organization. This position works with Finance, Global Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality, Sales, Marketing, HR, Distribution and Customer Service
Create program timelines, milestones and key process metrics. Then, implement and drive success to improve business results
Maintain and monitor key Medtronic and RTG performance metrics
Own field inventory results process and procedures
Communicate and share results, including "how it was done" best practices
Must Have Minimum Qualifications (to be considered):
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
5+ years of managerial experience
Nice to Have
2 +years ERP system working experience
Project Management experience
Experience working in a regulated environment
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
MA in Business, Engineering or related field
Influence leadership skills and experience
Basic understanding of Import/Export
Project Management (PMP) Certification
