J. Walter Thompson is seeking a Senior Field Account Manager. The Senior Field Account Manager will provide strategic expertise and thought leadership to Church's Chicken local DMA markets ensuring all marketing and advertising programs align with Church's Chicken corporate brand goals. In addition, they will be responsible for working with the Media AOR on the execution and implementation of all media efforts in the local market. The Senior Account Manager will work closely with Church's Field Marketing Managers and Creative and Media AORs with the following objectives:

  • On the ground/local agency representation to create a more personal connection and relationship with franchisee's and operators

  • Responsible for driving local market and franchisee growth in the business via sales and transaction increases

  • Provide marketing, advertising and media counsel, management, training and executional capabilities

  • Design local advertising programs and communications to promote awareness of the brand and promotions, while ultimately driving transactions

  • Local market budget support and management

  • Ensure consistency of marketing, advertising and media support that aligns with overarching brand goals and objectives while taking local market priorities and differences into consideration

Responsibilities Include

  • Play a key role in all advertising, marketing, media and business efforts for local Church's Chicken DMA markets

  • Key partner and liaison to Church's Field Marketing Manager

  • Collaborate with creative and media agencies to ensure cohesion across channels in addition to market specific considerations

  • Develop strong relationships with key Church's franchisees and operators

  • Understand local market opportunities and develop plans accordingly

  • Help maintain and strengthen Church's brand position in their region and local market

  • Maintain awareness of new media, relevant industry and market trends; develop analyses and reports regarding those trends

  • Work hand in hand with media agency on annual planning process, overseeing development of strategic media plans and direction and budget parameters for plans

  • Establish consistent and thorough communications to local markets, franchisees and owners

  • Handle all administrative tasks for local markets including creative needs lists, media calendars, meeting minutes, conference reports, etc.

  • Attend and present local marketing recommendations and plans at DMA meetings, held several times a year

  • Manage Field Account Manager who will assist and report into Senior Field Account Manager

  • Provide merchandising and in-store recommendations based on promotions and LTOs

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications or relevant/equivalent experience

  • 8+ years' experience in an advertising agency or field marketing role

  • Quick Service Restaurant experience required with experience in a franchisee environment strongly preferred

  • Account Management background preferred, ideally with field experience

  • Proven leadership abilities and managerial experience required

  • Strong understanding of overall media environment and landscape

  • Success in presenting strategic solutions and POVs to large audiences

  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including corporate, agency partners, franchisees, etc. in addition to strong relationship building skills

  • Experience identifying business building opportunities for local markets under a larger brand umbrella

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks while working independently

  • Strong attention to detail

  • A strong sense of urgency and commitment to get the job done quickly and with high quality

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with people at all levels of an organization

  • Must be willing to travel to local markets frequently travel more than 50% of the time
