The Boeing Company is looking for a F-15 Mission Systems/Flight Test Engineer. This position involves working as a member of a small engineering team supporting F-15E flight test activities at Nellis AFB, NV. This is a two-year assignment and will include a Domestic Travel Allowance (DTA) benefit. The applicant will be working as a Boeing employee within a USAF Operational Test squadron. This position will function as a remotely deployed extension of the Boeing F-15 flight test group at Eglin AFB, FL; which is tasked with providing overall engineering/technical support for a wide variety of flight test programs on USAF F-15 aircraft. Specific daily duties and job tasks will be assigned by the USAF officer in charge within the Nellis Operational Test squadron.
The primary role of this position will be to support F-15E aircraft software, hardware, and weapon system upgrades; with a focus on Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) flight operations. This support will focus on engineering integration of avionics and weapon hardware systems, with an emphasis on aircraft Operational Flight Program (OFP) upgrades. Direct and frequent interaction with Boeing Engineering and USAF personnel will be required to coordinate and communicate test and data flow activities between the Nellis, Eglin, Warner Robins, St Louis, and Raytheon (radar) Engineering teams. This role will involve developing a comprehensive understanding of the F-15 OFP development and problem reporting process. Prior experience and a working knowledge of integrated tactical avionics systems, MIL-STD-1553 digital interfaces, and tactical weapon systems is highly desired. Understanding of fighter aircraft flight test methods, Fighter Data Link/Link 16, and data instrumentation systems is also highly desired (DRI, DVRs, etc). The ability to perform root-cause analysis/troubleshooting to identify and sort actual problems from non-problems is mandatory.

The selected candidate will be provided with on-site training and hands-on experience to become knowledgeable on a variety of aircraft systems including: onboard radar systems, electronic jammers, onboard computing systems, offensive weapons systems, communication systems, and encrypted aircraft data networks.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Analysis and interpretation of aircraft video data to verify correct systems operation
Analysis and interpretation of digital aircraft interfaces (MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-1760, and other digital data)
Analysis and interpretation of aircraft air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon system operations
Aircraft configuration coordination and records keeping
OFP Configuration Memo coordination RCN, ICD, and large test plan document reviews
Test point tracking
Post mission aircrew de-briefings
Providing general technical support to aircrew and aircraft maintainers regarding avionics/weapons/OFP functionality and operations
Writing post mission technical and status reports
Problem reporting and tracking
Tech Data document reviews (maintenance and aircrew manuals)
Downloading/marking/logging/transmitting recorded aircraft data back to Eglin AFB and/or Boeing-St. Louis for processing and analysis
Additional duties will include using the TESN and other computer networks to move data files between test sites. Will function as the Boeing Point of Contact for tracking down all F-15E flight test data needs at Nellis AFB. Occasional off-site support for meetings and flight testing within the continental US may be required. Additional duties may occasional include on-aircraft system checkouts and troubleshooting of developmental systems on an as-needed basis. Flight test support requirements may require working temporary non-standard labor schedules.

Typical Education/Experience: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Required Skills & Experience:
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Candidates must also be able to gain special program access clearance.
