This position is part of the Employee Life & Site Experience (EL&SE) team. EL&SE brings to life the connections, projects and experiences that help our employees feel engaged and valued, and ultimately deliver impact to our Workmates, customers and bottom line.

The team supports a community of named site leaders across our offices, plans our largest employee events, coaches employees who plan smaller social events at each site, and partners with a range of team members who help build and deliver a remarkable employee experience within each office. This team is a part of People & Purpose (HR).

About the Role

In this role, you will be accountable for crafting and driving internal employee events in the Bay Area in addition to contributing to the global event strategy via strategic projects and partnership with Employee Life Program Managers. Your work drives positive Workmate events and experiences that bring Workday's values to life. Specifically, you will:

Design and implement internal events - Bay Area

  • Event Management: Design, plan, and lead events for Workday employees.

This includes leading and executing on a strategic campaign calendar aimed to connect, celebrate, and inspire employees. Events range in size from hundreds of employees to thousands of employees. • Vendor Management: Source and partner with internal and external vendors to deliver events. In some cases, it is required to lead external planning agencies.

  • Budget Management: Work within assigned event budgets to deliver high impact events.

Negotiate with vendors to ensure competitive and fair pricing. Keep Employee Life Leadership updated on program spend, proactively flagging any concerns in the planning stages, and reconcile events in a timely manner.

  • Communications & Storytelling: Develop and execute communication plans for program initiatives, campaigns, and events to inspire employee engagement and highlight community impact through internal channels (e.g., Slack, Intranet, email, presentations) and external channels (large-scale events & activations).

Employee Experience Project Management

  • Own and contribute to strategic projects, as assigned. Build relationships and collaborate globally with stakeholders and partners to deliver outcomes across the global organization, ensuring shared understanding of progress and performance.

  • Support strategy and delivery of global events by designing event toolkits for Workmate Community Leaders across Workday's global sites to execute, allowing for a consistent and streamlined approach to employee events.

  • Host event trainings and build tools to be used by volunteer event planners across the company, contributing expertise and event knowledge to those who execute culture building moments at Workday.

  • Ensure an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all the members of the team, all in the interest of driving the work forward.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work.

We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
