The GWCCA is currently seeking a Senior Event Coordinator to join our team. This role is integral in ensuring the highest level of customer experience and satisfaction. The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast paced environment, foster a team mentality, and strive for continued professional growth. The Senior Event Coordinator reports to the Event Services Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans, organizes and manages assigned events within the Georgia World Congress Center and Centennial Olympic Park.
Acts as primary on-site facility contact with the client; coordinates and directs the staff to provide necessary services and equipment to implement client requirements and changes in accordance with current facility policies.
Primary responsibility of coordinating high profile events with >2,000 peak room nights.
Prepare detailed event outlines, drawings and instructions to operating departments based on client specifications with consideration of facility capabilities, policies, contracts and other circumstances.
Review contracts to ensure all special provisions have been fulfilled.
Prepare, update and finalize cost estimates of event related charges.
Monitor event progress in accordance with plan of operations to ensure compliance. Recommend appropriate corrective action to operating departments as needed.
Manage on-site adjustments at the request of the client and to assure compliance with safety measures.
Coordinate with other Event Coordinators, operating departments, and service partners to ensure quality service to customers.
Conduct pre- and post-event meetings with clients and operating departments.
Manage, develop and provide feedback to department support staff.
Take lead on projects/assignments as appointed by Event Services Manager.
Conduct weekly Events Operations Meetings.
Assign new events to Event Team with guidance from the Event Services Manager(s).
Acquaint new staff to campus processes and team members.

Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a productive works schedule as required by events assigned.

Use appropriate technology to find and process information, while continuously looking for innovative ways to enhance our performance.
Ability to work an irregular work schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as required to perform duties and responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
Minimum four (4) year's event coordination experience in hospitality or related field preferably in convention center facility.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred.
