Tetra Tech Infrastructure Northeast (INE) is seeking a Senior Environmental/Urban Planner to assist in the environmental permitting of large and small-scale public and private sector projects ensuring comprehensive environmental review and project resiliency and sustainability. This role is critical in helping to lead the group to continued success and growth. More about your team

Our practice is focused on both public and private projects ranging from significant infrastructure improvements, complex highway interchange projects and private development. You'll work closely with our multidisciplinary environmental/engineering staff, who has a long and successful history of delivering complex, innovative, and successful award-winning projects. Most importantly, you'll be joining communities-focused, cohesive regional operating unit, supported by national and international resources.

How You'll Make an Impact

The primary goal of this role is to ensure the quality of environmental planning documents. Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of environmental documents in accordance with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), including Environmental Impact Reports/Statements (EIR/EIS).

  • Coordination of multidisciplinary authors contributing to environmental documents.

  • Oversee technical reviews of analyses for quality assurance.

  • Contribute technical subject matter expertise related to natural, cultural or social considerations during environmental reviews.

  • Management of environmental analysis tasks for major infrastructure planning projects

  • Permit application and report preparation for local, state and federal agencies.

  • Facilitate agency consultations and assist with the presentation of information at public outreach meetings and hearings.

  • Track relevant local, state or federal regulatory programs and guidance for applicability to ongoing projects

You will achieve your best if you have…

  • 8+ years of relevant environmental assessment and permitting experience.

  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts degree in environmental science, natural resources, ecology, environmental planning, or related disciplines.

  • Ability to apply inter-related regulatory programs to specific projects.

  • Excellent verbal and technical; written communication skills.

  • Experience in coordination and production of extensive documents.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple simultaneous work assignments.

This position is primarily located in our Marlborough, Massachusetts office with the option to work from other Tetra Tech locations in Mansfield or Boston.
