Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to support our established and growing business areas in the renewable energy and development sector. This position may be in a Tetra Tech office in California, Colorado, Texas, Washington DC, or Alabama.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful applicant will have a background in environmental planning and permitting, in particular NEPA, with the skills necessary to support project managers and lead tasks related to environmental review and regulatory permitting for a variety of projects in the US for Department of Defense clients

  • The Planner should also have experience with agency consultation, coordination of technical teams and contractors providing technical deliverables; providing support for public outreach; and application of state and county land use requirements

  • The Planner will have the ability and experience to support complex projects in a dynamic work environment, have strong critical thinking capabilities, and have a flexible approach to problem solving

  • Excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), planning, and organizational skills are required

  • Must have demonstrated writing skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and work independently.

  • This position requires a team-oriented professional with a strong attention to detail, and a proven commitment to quality management and client satisfaction

  • The Planner should also have excellent communication skills as the position requires frequent and effective interaction with clients, regulatory agencies, other team members and the public

Requirements:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree but preferably a graduate degree in environmental sciences, urban/regional planning, environmental policy, environmental studies, and/or related field

  • Have a minimum of 10 years of experience with NEPA environmental assessments and EIS, and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance/permitting.

  • Experience in preparing and processing various county, state, and federal land use permits as well as preparation of documents to meet the requirements of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is preferred

  • Have excellent research, analytical, writing, oral communication and organizational skills

  • Have the ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and work closely with team members located in other offices

  • Have strong task management skills to successfully manage project teams and deliverables.

  • Preference for work experience in environmental consulting

  • Competency with basic business computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office)

VIEW JOBS 1/7/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-04-06T00:00 Senior Environmental Technician – Power Generation Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a Senior Environmental Technician technically skilled and knowledgeable in environmental regulatory requirements associated with electric power generation facilities. In this position, you will primarily be located at Drake Power Plant in Colorado Springs, but will also support the Ray D Nixon Power Plant, the Front Range Power Plant, and additional remote operated power plants. If you are a team player, technically skilled, knowledgeable in relevant regulations, and you take ownership of your role while being passionate about environmental stewardship, then this position may be for you! In this role you will be responsible for: * Reviewing, analyzing and interpreting environmental data in coordination with team * Implementing required permits or plans, and aiding in reviewing these for necessary modifications or updates * Preparing and/or reviewing environmental reports and maintaining necessary records * Fostering strong partnerships with facility operations staff, maintenance personnel, engineering, management, and Environmental Services Department * Certain duties, in coordination for Instrument and Controls, associated with Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) equipment installation, relocation, replacement, configuration, maintenance, adjustment, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair * Performing CEMS quality assurance tests as outlined by permit conditions and as required by regulations * Evaluating CEMS instrumentation and technological changes for necessary upgrades to meet regulatory requirements * Conducting Method 9 opacity observations * Coordinating or conducting field sampling and analysis of industrial waste and/or air emissions * Monitoring, management, inspections and recordkeeping associated with waste storage and disposal * Coordinating and assisting contractors with annual asbestos condition assessments * On-site coordinator for lead and asbestos abatement removal in conjunction with outside contractors * Responding to chemical emergencies and spills * Performing inspections, monitoring and recordkeeping for petroleum storage tanks, and coordination with contractors for any necessary repairs * Representing industrial facilities on relevant programs during audits and regulatory inspections * Providing information related to program requirements, potential facility projects, specifications or records to relevant stakeholders and regulatory agencies Why should you apply?
