Overview

Kimley-Horn's Everett, Washington (WA) office is seeking an Environmental Planner with 7+ years of experience to join their Environmental Planning team! The successful candidate will be an emerging leader in a practice specializing in NEPA/SEPA or environmental planning services. This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and assist in growing the environmental practice while assisting in developing projects, clients, and teams around them. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

This position manages client relationships and oversees project tasks while mentoring the growth of younger staff. The successful candidate will have a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and support practice areas. This position would have the ability to help grow the company in this practice area, with supporting resources from around the firm. Bonuses, promotions, path to ownership recognition, and other forms of advancement are performance-based because as a firm we focus on results.

Area of expertise that may include but not mutually exclusive:

  • NEPA/SEPA practitioner with 7+ years of experience: generalist or specialist in a particular resource area. Has experience compiling CE/EA/EIS documentation and preference on experience seeing at least one major EIS through to ROD.

  • Sustainability expertise, climate action planning, ENVISION expertise, LEED expertise, Salmon-Safe expertise

  • Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning

  • Working with infrastructure projects from across industries such as transportation, transit, land planning, aviation

Management responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting or exceeding client expectations

  • Making presentations, writing proposals and scopes of work

  • Establish budgets, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising the execution of work

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • 7+ of experience in NEPA/SEPA practice areas, environmental planning or other related work in infrastructure or development services delivery.

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering work in the PNW region

  • Knowledge and experience as a practitioner leading NEPA/SEPA.

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, planning or related field.

  • Client contacts and relationships with local municipalities, area counties, and state agencies.

Salary Range:

  • $115,000 - $150,000
  • Eligible for Performance Based Bonuses
