Basic Function :

As a Senior Engineer/Manager SCADA you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient, reliable, and secure operation of our 3GW+ portfolio of solar and battery storage facilities. Your expertise will support the continuous monitoring, control, and optimization of plant performance, ensuring we meet and exceed our renewable energy production goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate technical support in event of SCADA system malfunctions, including emergency response and resolution of issues to minimize downtime working closely with O&M, Asset Management, Contractors, and field teams.

  • Analyze data collected from the field to identify trends, diagnose system issues, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies for SCADA hardware and software, ensuring long-term sustainability and compliance with industry standards.

  • Manage and implement firmware and software updates.

  • Lead SCADA-related projects, including system/feature upgrades and expansions, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely and on-budget completion.

  • Ensure all SCADA operations comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices for cybersecurity and data protection.

  • Train operational staff on SCADA system functionalities and best practices for monitoring and responding to system alerts.

  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in SCADA systems and renewable energy to recommend and implement improvements to our operations.

  • Provide SCADA subject matter expertise support during the commissioning and validation of greenfield pipeline projects

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in SCADA systems, preferably in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar and battery storage.

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, energy management systems, PV and battery storage technologies.

  • Proficient in Ignition, Canary Labs, SEL Hardware & Software, GE RX3i, Data Loggers, Meteorological Equipment, etc.

  • Proficient in programming languages commonly used in SCADA system development and maintenance (e.g., Python, Java, C++).

  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques for performance monitoring and optimization.

  • Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity practices related to industrial control systems.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

LOCATION

  • Houston, TX, San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Denver, CO, or remote option available

  • This position may require occasional travel to plant sites for system installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.

  • Availability for on-call duty outside of standard working hours in case of system emergencies.

Base Pay - $130,000 - $145,000

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, certifications, specific work location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Base pay may vary per location due to differences in the cost of living.

The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual discretionary bonus, full Health & Wellness Benefits package, generous Long Term Incentive plan designed with our partnership mentality in mind, and other applicable incentive perks as outlined in any formal offer made. The final compensation package will be discussed with the candidate during the final stages of the hiring process.
