JOB SUMMARY: H105
Performs skilled technical engineering workin the data collection, planning, design, and draftingof water andsewer projects byusing computer aided design and drafting (CADD) software applications. Performs reviews of proposed developments and their connections tothe water and sewer systems. Assists residential and commercial customers regarding ECUAwater and sewer map info and various ECUA policies and procedures.Work is performed under the supervision of anengineer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Performs occasional field data collection for use in project designs and other needs.
Investigates problems/complaints, gathers information/data and formulates, designs, and recommends corrective action.
Reviews subdivision plats and other proposed connections to ECUA's water and sewer systemfor compliance with ECUAand other laws and ordinances; while conferring with ECUA staff.
Prepares plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Utilizes CADD software applications to prepare drawings, exhibits, and other project related documents.
Interacts and coordinates with fellow ECUA departments and their employees, engineering consultants, contractors, fellow governmental agencies, and the public.
Attends pre-bid and pre-construction conferences and assists in the review of plans, specifications, bids and other engineering documents pertaining to single service connections requests and water/sewer systems extensions projects.
Assists with and prepares permit packages for FDOT, FDEP, and other agencies.
Assist in preparing easement descriptions and sketches.
Maintains records, researches files, and prepares reports.
Usescalculator, makes various field calculations, and records data.
Transfers field data to office software applications.
Consults maps, deeds, aerial photographs, and subdivision plats, public records, etc.
Interacts with the public and explains policies and procedures.
Utilizes GIS software applications and tools to prepare specialized maps, exhibits,reports,and other project related documents,may utilize spatial analysis and interactive GIS add-ons.
Provides digital documents, via digital media, to others outside ECUA.
Collects and assembles data for summary reports.
All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with a combination of four (4) years' education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Associates degree (two year degree) or higher in Engineering or a related field is preferred. (Educational documentation will be requested upon offer of employment.)
Additional specialized vocational or technical training or education is preferred. Experiences computer aided design and drafting (CADD) related to civil engineering is preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Requires the possession of a valid Driver License.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel,reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch, is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and requires distance and depth vision ability.
While performing outside functions of the job, the employee is exposed to outdoor weather conditions and is required to use shovels and lift various objects such as, but not limited to surveying equipment.
The incumbent's working conditions are typically moderately quiet, but are occasionally loud while performing field duties.
