Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Project Manager in Wireless Construction, you will manage a variety of internal and external partners and vendors to oversee construction and maintenance for a regional network of cell site projects. Your vital role will ensure that these multi-stakeholder, complex projects are delivered on time, to specifications, and within budget.
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
Coordinate with external vendors and internal resources to ensure that construction projects are started on time with the appropriate resources.
Maintain detailed schedules for each project and actively managing the scheduled tasks with outside vendors including major milestones, action items, long lead purchases, and any other commitments that would impact the project schedule.
Provide regular project status reports to executive management and the project team.
Work cross-functionally to collaborate with other teams in the region including Real Estate, RF Design, Construction, Implementation, Network Assurance, and System Performance.
Prepare and manage purchase orders to ensure alignment with project implementation timelines. Ensure prompt vendor payment.
Deliver on monthly spend targets that help support our capital commitments and maintain program cadence/run rates.
Utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document equipment orders, schedules and installation completions.
Skills - Experience and Requirements
The successful Project Manager will have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Eight or more years of experience in telecommunications / data networking or wireless industry
Experience managing projects and process/program management experience.
Experience with budget tracking, cost estimation, and cost accounting of capital plans.
General construction knowledge
Excellent communication and team building skills enable you to negotiate with internal and external partners to ensure nothing gets in the way of success.
