Senior Engineering Manager, Nasa Support

Pearl River Technologies is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team on the Flight Dynamics Support Services III (FDSS III) contract. This position leads a group of engineering teams in the GSFC Flight Dynamics Facility (FDF). The FDF is a NASA Mission Essential Infrastructure facility that provides multi-mission flight dynamics services for a wide range of NASA missions including JWST and Artemis.

The individual will oversee the services provided by the FDF teams in areas including flight dynamics operations and analysis, tracking data evaluation, ground system development and integration, and sustaining FDF information technology infrastructure. Specific areas of support will include, but are not limited to: Provide overall project management oversight across the FDF including technical, schedule, cost, quality, and resource management for multiple task orders.

Monitor FDF tasks to ensure projects/tasks are on schedule and within budget. Identify and report variance and mitigation plan to customer and program management. Work closely with supported customers including FDF Operations Directors, NASA Branch Management, and spacecraft projects.

Ensure expectations are clearly captured, always met, and frequently exceeded. Confirm satisfaction with team performance and mitigate all issues. Develop overall technical direction and strategic vision for FDF.

Develop subordinate first line managers overseeing the technical staff. Evaluate staff performance and support career development. Hire additional leadership staff when needed.

Coordinate and monitor execution of overall FDF vision and strategic plan. Collaborate and communicate with other senior managers and program management. Determine needs and allocate resources to deliver on customer commitment.

Identify opportunities for technical or business process improvement. Recognize and pursue business development activities for organic growth across contract. Support new opportunities for growth outside the FDF or contract, as needed.

Some travel may be required. Some off-hours support will be required. Required Skills and Experience:

Applicants should have at least 15 years of experience with increasing responsibility. At least 5 years of experience project management, including managing multiple projects simultaneously. A minimum of 7 years of personnel management experience, including at least 2 years of experience overseeing first line supervisors (or above). Ability to communicate direction and concepts at multiple levels, from junior engineers to senior executives and NASA customers.

Creative thinking and effective problem solving through innovative solutions to complex technical or business problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desired Skills and Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) Experience with software development lifecycles and methodologies.

Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
